We had a family gathering today and it was hard because there was so little I could eat. I realized family gatherings are hardest for me because food is what my family comes together over and I'm feeling like I can't participate. Tomorrow we go to the ILs and I know there is going to be nothing I can eat so I'm going to have to bring my own food. Ugh.

Us too! It's always pizza or fried chicken, and who is bringing a key lime pie?! Especially Bc the rest of my family is "normal weight." Plus my brother is a college kid. Sigh.
Hello! I was thrilled to see this board at the bottom of the boards list. I'm starting my 4th or 5th Whole30 tomorrow with my DH. We live in the UK but are mostly Canadian (I have dual citizenship, DS2 just has UK right now), I'm 28 weeks pregnant, have two sons (20 months, almost 5 years) and I've been a Paleo band wagon jumper on/off for 3-4 years.
I did a Whole 21 back in July but life has been busy/eating terrible since then. My pregnancy heartburn is getting worse and my legs are getting puffy and I know cutting dairy and wheat will help.
Lurked some posts - great recipes recommended.
Day: -1. Start tomorrow.
They don't do Labor Day here and my DH is away for work so it's been a long but not that thrilling weekend with the kids.
Prepping a bunch of food today. As recommended in a previous thread, Pork Carnitas plus I am going to cook/prep a mix of breakfast hash (sweet potato, apple, sausage) and freeze it. Also going to make italian meatballs and found a W30 compliant sauce for it.
Hope to be here at least 30 days, maybe more. Very cool to have this forum. The Whole9 forums can be a bit slow.
Doing ok. I've eaten out a few times & I'm not 100% sure everything was totally GF/sugar free but I've really tried. Feeling pretty good though not super energetic. My mom is here & we are baking lots (putting most in the freezer). I haven't even tasted a thing which definitely shows my sugar cravings are under control. I can tell I'm slimming in my body--my stomach is getting much flatter (after 4 kids, it has a long way to go). My birthday is in a few days & having a cookout today but planning to stick to the plan.
