I suuuper wish Carter's would stop making lineny cotton clothing so I don't feel compelled to iron my 1yo's clothes.
I don't even iron my own.
I've only ironed them a couple times, but i know what you mean. If you don't put them in the dryer and smooth them out when they are still wet they aren't nearly as wrinkly.
Dude. @notquiteblushing you asked if you could go down a giant water slide while pregnant.
We've all asked ridiculous questions.
LOLĀ @notquiteblushing, didn't you once ask why people needed to change their baby's diapers instead of just letting a kid roam free on a pee pad ?
Lol I had forgotten that!
I'm appropriately humbled this morning. I didn't do the best job explaining my flameful last night. I hope most of us will be able to look back at the tough times and laugh.

This isn't my first newborn and it is such a mindfuck. I've done this before so I should know the answers to my questions, but being deep in the trenches of life getting turned upside down again makes rational thought a little complicated.
It also doesn't help that people are so damn invested in newborn sleep. "How are they sleeping?" "How long did you sleep last night?" People are so invested that it's hard to remember that newborns sleep like crap for months.
OMG. Did you see my MIL post? I was getting so enraged that I had to quit responding to her texts.
I don't even think I have a crazy non-sleeper. I realize that this is normal for most newborns, but that is small comfort when I'm sitting in my bed from midnight until 6 am trying to get M to go the fuck to sleep.
It's hard to see the forest for the trees... Especially when you're lost in the middle of the forest. All you see are SO MANY TREES.
Signed, It's 3am and hopefully that makes sense.
Especially the first time. The next time you wander in, you're like, oh my god, this fucking tree again. But at least you don't feel the need to bang your head against it in a useless effort to try to chop it down
I think both nqb and I have retracted our previous statements. Hopefully we can all be forgiven and move on, recognizing the rightful call out.
I think this has turned into a newborn sleep vent vs. nqb pile on. At least that's how I'm taking it.
FTR I don't feel piled on so vent away. I keep typing a post trying to explain myself further then deleting it lest it comes out wrong. Sending sleep dust to all.

Pick a series on Netflix and strap in. Seriously. My best binge watching was MOTN on maternity leave.

Ugh, I don't really want to spend every night on the sofa. That seems like giving up. LOL

Oh no! He's a month old. You can't coerce, teach, or make him sleep. He's going to sleep when he sleeps. If you're going to be awake anyway, you might as we'll be entertained, lol.
Seriously though, I know it's hard. You're doing great!

I watched on my iPhone with one headphone in while rocking and nursing on the nursery glider.
You're basically on his schedule for the next few months, so may as well entertain yourself while he's awake or nursing.
I am GBCNing and reading in bed. I can't get M and me down the stairs to watch TV, but at least half the time his wake ups have been pretty short lately. (Knock on wood)
