@brie @starry pugz- since you all have kids a month or two older than mine.
DD's poop has been seriously runny lately. As in, it's been like a month since I've seen a solid loaf. She's eating a ton of watermelon and honeydew (she's obsessed), which I assume is what's causing the lack of solid poop patties. But damn- blowout city over here. She's also had super green snot, but is otherwise fine. No fever. Should I worry?
(OMG is she allergic to gluten!) (kidding- and drunk GBCNing!)
Is there anything I can do to stop the progression of my DS's flat spot? He heavily favors laying on one side and will immediately reposition himself if I attempt to put him on the other side. He knows how to wiggle out of his Tortle so that's been a big fat fail for us.
My kid isn't anywhere close to STTN and I nurse her every time she wakes.
My clogged duct seems to be improving already. And I figured out that it is my nursing in bed laying down that is to blame. I recently switched sides of the bed and now the boob in question is laying on the bed. No bueno.
I doubt there's actually an answer here, but why does my kid always want to roll onto her belly in her crib? She hates being on her stomach and she forgets she can roll back. If she screams we can go in and flip her, but sometimes she doesn't scream and we go into her room to find her face shoved into the mattress, which obviously concerns me.

I've heard this is a stage. Keep practicing tummy time so she learns to flip tummy to back and hope it will end soon!!!
Thank you, I hope this stage is a quick one. She's been rolling tummy to back for a couple of weeks now, but she won't do it in her crib. I'd feel better if she would just turn her head to the side even. Coming into the room to find her face shoved into the mattress is a little nervewracking!
Anyone's kid have tubes put in their ears? If M keeps getting ear infections Dr said we will likely have to.
How many times did they have issues before you decided on tubes? Was it bad for the baby/kid?
Tubes have been awesome for us. M is so much happier & not nearly as sick. Even colds run their course much faster now.
He had like 8 ear infections before he got tubes at 16 months. We could have gotten them sooner but didn't realize it until we were finally referred to the ENT. (Our pedi was a little more conservative) I would strongly encourage you to talk to an ENT, I can't say enough good things about our experience with tubes. And the procedure was a breeze.
Is my child destined to not sleep though the night until I wean? I'm not able to let him CIO at 3 am, because it's so much easier just to nurse.
Mine didn't STTN until I weaned, but that was at 11 months and he's always been a crappy sleeper.
My DS is almost 11 months, and he gets up once a night to nurse. I don't foresee that changing, because he's only STTN a handful of times, and that was months ago. My kid is calling the shots here!
1. When we do tummy time, M won't lift his head up much. Instead, he moves his legs like he's crawling, which drags his face and arms across the blanket. That annoys him. He lifts his head up well when I hold him up to my shoulder, so I know he can. Is this normal? What can I do to encourage him to lift his head during tummy time?
2. How can you tell if your supply drops? I have my 6 week appointment this week, so I hope to start exercising, but I'm paranoid about my supply dropping. Will I be able to tell right away, and if so, how? Fewer diapers, fussiness, extra nursing?
1. He'll figure it out. My ds1 used to just lie flat on his face and throw his arms back and cry. It was not fun times.
Try reclining while holding him on your chest/his tummy, that position might be easier for him to pick up his head.
When doing tummy time on the floor you can try to find something really interesting to look at (a toy with lights, for example) and he might try harder to see it.
2. Normal exercise won't hurt your supply. Just don't exercise to total exhaustion and make sure you drink lots of water. Also make sure you eat enough (don't cut calories). But yes, a supply drop would mean lots of cluster feeding and fussiness (keep in mind that there's a 6 week growth spurt coming which is similar behavior and wouldn't be related to you exercising).
Do I need to halve blueberries like I do grapes, or are they small enough that they won't be a choking hazard? I have been halving them just in case but I'm not sure I need to.
I didn't at first but B rejected them. Then I learned he likes them pre-squished so now if he's not eating them I squish them for him.

Try increasing his tummy time or wearing him, as much as he can handle. Basically anything that gets him off his back. AJ haaaated tummy time until about 2.5 months (until we got the FP kick and play piano mat, the toy bar made it much more tolerable for him) so I wore him a lot and we let him play on our chests a lot.

gibbinator when I'm nursing on one side and know I will be leaking on the other I will usually stuff a cloth on that side. It helps cut down on the constant wetness.
Oh and can I do almond milk or coconut milk for the transition instead of WCM?
We never did successfully transition to WCM, we went to 2% and now 1%, my pedi said it was fine as long as she was getting the fats needed from her diet so we did a lot of full fat yogurts and cheeses for her instead. I assume this would be the same idea.

Feed him almost exclusively on the other side if you're bottle feeding, and hold him on the other side when comforting or allowing him to sleep on you.

My oldest has never had WCM. We don't drink it. She had a milk protein allergy for the first 10 months of her life that she outgrew but I didn't want to tempt fate. She drinks coconut milk. She eats yogurt and cheese. And I try to make her diet as well rounded as possible. Our pedi and GI have said the coconut milk is completely fine. I plan to do the same with DD2.
When did you drop the 3rd/early evening nap and just move to an earlier bed time? I find it so difficult to get him down for this nap, around 5:00ish. Today he just dozed while nursing from 5-5:30 but I didn't try to get him to nap properly. I started the bedtime routine at 6:30. He went down super easily and was out by 7:20. Am I going to regret this? He's 4.5 months for those on the app.
I was wondering this myself. My LO is younger than yours (12 weeks yesterday) and she LOVES to nap. She wasn't excited about it yesterday, though, and she passed out by 7:30 last night. For her first MOTN wakeup, however, she was wiiiiiiide awake and just wanted to party. I had a heckuva time trying to get her back to sleep. This makes me think her bedtime was too early. How did it go for you last night?

He went down super easily at 7:20. First wake up was about 10:30, again at 11:30, 1:00, and 4:30. Awake for the day at 6:00 and then napped 8:15-9:45. All of the wake ups were less than 10 minutes. This is a relatively good night for us right now as we are smack dab in the middle of the 4MW.
My mom bought a sleeper at Carter’s during the 50% of sale that’s too small. Can my husband exchange it tomorrow for a different size or will he have to pay more since the sale is off tomorrow?
I desperately don’t want to make a trip there today, and his office is across the street from the store.

You should be able to exchange it as long as it's the same thing.

People talk about babies becoming more efficient nursers after a few months. Can it actually happen later on? My 7 month old DS Always takes 30 minutes but today has been draining each side in 8 minutes or less and then fussing a bit because I think he wants to know where the milk is, lol. After the second side he's fine though, and going 3 hours between feedings. That's weird right?

Nope, not weird. Totally normal. I think DD became efficient around 6 months. Now she's back to wanting to nurse longer. Lol

Good to know it's possible. I keep hearing that they get more efficient around 3-4 months, but that never happened. And darnit, I'm a little sad to hear it might not last!
Any time my nipples are moist, leak, or otherwise are wet when wearing a shirt, they end up sticking to the fibers in my breast pads, bra, shirt, bedsheets, whatever they touch. It is painful to peel them back off. Any tips to keep my skin from sticking? I tried putting a thick coat of lanolin on before snapping up my shirt, but then if milk leaks out between feeds and dried that causes the skin to stick again.
If they get stuck, put a bit of water over the area - may be easier to unstick. Works for gauze on wounds. Don't know about nipples.
I will try that. It mostly happens on one spot that has a crack so essentially a tiny weepy wound.
When did your kid learn colors and be able to count to five?
Ds knew yellow, blue and red around 22 months. In this past month he's able to identify all the regular crayola type colours (he's 26months). He learned to count from 1-4 and 5-9 this summer too, although he forgets 3 and gets side tracked trying to put all 9 in order. He can only identify groups of 1 & 2 things though.
