My cat likes to play with her water. Like sticks her paws in it and splashes around. There are always wet spots on the carpet where I put her food and water. Is there anything I can do about this? I just have a cheapy plastic dual food and water dish.
Last night I watched Scandal for the first time. Now I am hooked! Watching episode 4 now.
A long-time family friend (she and her H hung out with my folks and babysat my brother and me when I was very little and so did their daughter, etc.) is dying of cancer. She had a bad reaction to her chemo last week and her lungs filled with fluid. She is finally on the mend and we are visiting her in the hospital today, but she will most likely go to a nursing home now. Fuck cancer.
Gault, they make plastic trays that you can put under their food/water bowls.
I'm not sure what I'm doing today. It is my last day of staycation with P. I told him to go mountain biking with his friends so I could have some quiet time It's been an awesome vacation so far.
I kissed a boy after my friend's wedding yesterday. We walked along the water and talked for a really long time and then kissed for a while. It felt like being a teenager again! He already asked me out for Friday.
Jerk cat got out while I was at the wedding, so I had to search for him at 4am when I got home. Luckily I found him unharmed. Punk cat.
Well I made it to my parent's house (that long 5 mile drive) but I am not doing very much painting since I am parked on the couch watching TV with my dad.
I had to 'present' one paper to the class using a recording program called Jing. I spent most of yesterday freaking out about it (I don't know why...I just was...)
gault - I think cats prefer moving water. My childhood cat would always dip his paw into his water bowl, stir the water a bit, and then lick the water off his paw when he was thirsty. God I loved that cat.
Anyway, I second (third?) the cat fountain. They're a pain to keep clean, but they keep the cats (at least my cats) happy.
How is she settling in? Did you decide to change her name?

I LOVED that show!!! I was so good at it! In fact, I think it might have been the impetus for my urge to travel. I forgot, did you say how old she was? I love that she loves you! I love her new name!
gault my naughty devils love to bat at the dish and toss water around but of course they only do this in the middle of the night, which tends to wake me up when they nearly knock the water dish over.
why do cats do all their devious work in the middle of the night??? Or atleast that is when mine do it. All day they just lay around and sleep.

When H and I got married, I brought my cat (Brenna) and we added a troubled cat (Sugar)...and it was tense. Brenna was confused and wanted to eat, so she would wake us up at 3AM for food. We had to put Sugar's food bowl on the dresser so that Brenna wouldn't binge eat... Well then Sugar decided the dresser was hers and would spend time knocking shit off in the middle of the night. And in the middle of it all I was getting used to sleeping with white noise and talking in my sleep...so CHAOS lol We ended up having to use a spray bottle (set to stun) to teach the girls their boundaries. Sugar will still knock stuff off (but she only does it when I'm looking, because that's her way to say "Bitch, feed me!" lol Brenna will still chirp for her breakfast, but only to H, because she adores him (although sometimes she will still jump up on the bed and poke at my nose).
