So I'm tiptoeing back into the H&F lifestyle after a very, very long hiatus (was put on pelvic rest for my whole pregnancy and never got back into it) and while I'm still struggling to find time to get workouts in, I thought I should try and at least get my diet in control. I was wondering what (easy!) breakfast ideas you have? Currently I have some low-fat greek yogurt with some muesli, but myfitnesspal is telling me that's too much sugar and I am really struggling to keep up my energy so am sure it wouldn't hurt to cut out some sugar. Given I have about 15 minutes for breakfast, what would you suggest? I usually have a nutra grain bar for a snack around 11 and some hummus with my lunch but am up for any other ideas.
Do you like eggs? Eggs are my go-to for breakfast. A couple hard-boiled with some full fat or 2% yogurt (no fruit or flavor added - that's the sugar) and mix in a bit of honey if you need it. I also like 2 over-easy eggs over a piece of Ezekiel toast, or scrambled egg Ezekiel sandwich with avocado and fresh veggies.
Nutri-grain bars are yummy but may be a high on sugar for not too many calories - which mean it won't be too satisfying. Maybe a homemade bar sweetened with dates if you love bars? Or a handful of almonds?
I'm not the picture of perfect eating - I'm always in need of making some improvements! Hopefully these are reasonable ideas for you, though
Could you do oatmeal with some nut butter mixed in? That's my rush breakfast. Or look up some protein pancake recipes, freeze them and toast them each morning? There are some great recipes on Pinterest. Or make up some egg bake on the weekend and just reheat that during the week.

My breakfast is usually either:
1) plain greek yogurt with fresh fruit and homemade granola. I make a batch of granola every week so it will last me at least 1 to 1.5 weeks.
2) breakfast burrito with egg/egg whites, low fat cheese, veggies and a lo-carb wrap. I make the eggs in the microwave to save time
3) rolled oats with fruit and nuts. I make it with just milk for added protein and it cooks in 7 minutes in the microwave. I usually pop it in, go do other stuff, and then it is done.
I know other people that make individual egg frittatas in a muffin dish and freeze them.
Protein. Learn to love it. It will set you up for good blood sugar control and keep you full. I suggest making your breakfast the night before so it's super breezy in the morning. I would also suggest expanding your definition of breakfast foods. Breakfast can be just like other meals - protein, fat, veggies, maybe some fruit. It doesn't have to be what is traditionally considered "breakfast."

Are you using plain greek yogurt? The kind with fruit has tons of added sugar. If you really want to keep with the greek yogurt, use plain and add your own fruit and maybe some honey if you need extra sweetness.
I can usually scramble some eggs in 15 min. Put some salsa and avocado on top and you're good to go. If I'm really pressed for time, I have made them in the microwave also...takes about 5 min. Scramble them, put on for a minute, scramble again and put on for 30 sec, scramble and then another 15...they are usually done -cooking may vary with microwave.
I'm also going to try some quinoa breakfast bowls that I saw on Pinterest - those you could make ahead - I like quinoa better cold.
Breakfast is actually my biggest meal most days. I'll have a 4oz lean ground beef burger on a sandwich thin, and some veggies or fruit on the side. Other days I have a 2 egg omelet with chicken or steak and veggies. Or some chicken breast sandwich or just by itself always with veggies or fruit on the side. Sometimes I'll throw in some white, red or sweet potatoes.

The last two weeks I've been making a frittata in a baking dish with leftover produce from the week before, plus frozen vegetables and ham. I top off the dish with shredded cheese. Then I just reheat a piece of it every day. Easy and cheap.
Egg whites (cooked in the microwave in a mug) and oatmeal
Omelet w/ cherry tomatoes and spinach (3-4 egg whites, one egg)
Plain greek yogurt with protein powder mixed in plus some fruit (sounds weird but it keeps me full) I use lots of different protein powders but my fav tastes like coffee and chocolate (Java Pro Mocha) and I really like Progenex Recovery in the Tropical Vanilla Flavor.
