I don't think the photos are scandalous (I haven't seen them) but the phone hacking is creepy. I would be pissed off if I were any of the celebs. Good lesson though about taking nude photos.
I don't think the photos are scandalous. I think that the action is scandalous, and I think that the person who did this is a piece of shit who doesn't respect privacy. If Jennifer Lawrence had wanted to release naked photographs of herself as a testament to her sexuality, she would have done that instead of deleting them.
If you took naked photographs of yourself to send to a significant other or just for yourself, would you be okay with a stranger hacking into your iCloud and splashing them all over the internet? I know that I wouldn't be, and that doesn't mean jack shit in terms of how I feel about my sexuality.

I am pretty disgusted by the whole "if she didn't want them on the internet, she shouldn't have posed for them" reaction that I am seeing everywhere. No. She has a right to privacy just like the rest of us, and that kind of victim blaming is not unlike "if she didn't want to get raped she shouldn't have worn a mini skirt."
It's not that I don't think it's an invasion of privacy or gross or creepy. It's that it's happened so often in the last few years that I'm not shocked it's happened again.
Blake Lively and Paris Hilton's shit was hacked a few years ago. There was/is a huge celebrity hacking trial in England. So if any of these celebs didn't think it could happen to them, they are stupid.
And now I'm sure someone will chime in with the OMG, you're saying rape victims are asking for it. No. I'm saying that if your neighborhood has a high rate of vehicle thefts, it's a little stupid of you to keep valuables in it.
I think some of what is in this article is why she copped to them. Because it doesn't really affect her image and it's not like she is tied to a fan base or an employer that would react negatively to them. She's considered a serious actress but also one who is very comfortable with who she is and doesn't hide her personality. I think some of the other people who were hacked are in a different position.
I think it's gross and creepy that someone did this to her and others. But I also find it totally unsurprising. And it's something I would tell my own kids not to do. How often do we talk about kids these days taking pics of themselves with their phones and it not being a good idea? Regardless of who it happens to, it is not a good idea and it seems like people will never learn that lesson until it happens to them. Celebs especially have a bigger target on them, but really all it takes is someone dedicated to hacking you so being a non celeb doesn't make you immune.
