My sister has voiced interest in getting an initial pendant recently and I'd like to get her one for her upcoming birthday. I ordered this Kate Spade one from the Nordstrom sale, but I'm not sure how I feel about it.
I love my Sonya Renee (she's a Dallas designer) block initial necklace. If you like her on Facebook or follow her on instagram, she has discount codes every so often.
Mine are from Tiffany as well. I have the initials to each of my girls on my chain. I've mixed the Tiffany Alphabet with theE Peretti letters. I really love mine and I wear it daily and have for almost 5 years now.
Wow did those Elsa Peretti Tiffany initials get expensive. When I got them 10 years ago or so I could have sworn they were about half of what they are now. I have that one in my first and last name initial. The chain is a little too short for me.

I know! I have had mine for probably 15 years in gold with the chain and now its' over $1000! It definitely wasn't close to that back then.
That being said, I do love my "F" necklace and still recommend this one too.

Check BaubleBar. They usually have pretty personalized jewelry and may have one closer to the price of the Nordstrom pendant than something from Tiffany.
You may also want to browse amazon. I bought a sterling silver monogram necklace that I absolutely love and it was just $30.

Do not get the Baublebar initial disc ones. I made the mistake of ordering that and it looks so cheap. It hasn't made it out of the package and it was a final sale due to being "personalized." I wish I hadn't wasted the money on that one.

I have the "J" from Tiffany as well. I love it, however I agree with you on the chain being too short. They come with a 16" chain and if you want an 18" chain you have to spend an additional $65.
