I am trying to get in contact with the billing department of the hospital, but they're not answering. I think my insurance will pay 90% of the cost, but I don't know how much they cost. Does anyone have experience with this?
It's going to vary by insurer, but mine were free. I paid copays when I went in for testing and such, but the shot appointments were free without copay.
The creation of my serums is covered at 100% (this has been true of every insurer I've had since I started). My shots with my current insurer and doctor cost $15.42 per appointment (and I get 4 shots total for that cost) until I meet my deductible, after which they are free.
I just got my shots this morning, and happened to be paying attention to this for some reason - several folks there had no copay, others paid up to $20.
The allergist where I did my ramp up also gave me a deal where I only paid once a week (even though I was coming in 2-3 times). That was a really nice deal, since it kept my cost around $20 a week instead of more like $60.

My serums were 100% covered by insurance. I have a $10 office visit co-pay for every shot I go in for. Not too bad but it did add up during the built up period where I was going 1-2 times a week.
My DH does allergy shots. A few years ago when he started them it was all OOP. He discontinued them because we could no longer afford the cost. With his new employer they are 100% covered.
Testing was $1500 Serum is $144 every 6 weeks Office visit to receive shot $30 a week
Everything has been 100% covered. He does 2 shots once a week. Now he is self administering the shots so we only have to pay for needles.
