Got the boots in and as per usual I don't love them. I like them, but I can't decide if I like either pair enough to keep them. I am a serial boot returner.
They're a little big in the calf, but not hugely so. The odd thing is the ankle is pretty large. It bends pretty badly (pic 2). The price is great on these, but the leather seems pretty cheap quality.
Next up Sam Edelman Serephina. I had high hopes for this one:
The heel seems shorter to me than the 3.75 listed, which is fine. I just can't tell if I like these enough for the price to keep them. The ankle also bends pretty badly and I hate when boots have the wide calf "extender" thing. Since they're already too big for me I feel like that looks funny.
Thoughts on either pair?
(...side note - I do love the Gap Maternity tshirt I'm also trying on in these pics and the little herringbone flats I ordered)
First off, love the bump!! So cute!! As for the boots: I don't like the first pair at all. They don't seem to have any structure and are just blah to me. The second pair is ok, but I could see why you don't love them. I think I'd return both.

Darn, I was thinking return, but I was hoping my vision was off. You'd think I'd learn to stop ordering boots, but I can't help it with the free shipping/returns. Should have just jumped on the Tory Burch boot order bandwagon!
(Hark - I'm 23 weeks right now. Getting larger by the minute!).

I'm not loving either. The first is really bad. The second isn't as horrible, but I think there's better out there. The shirt is great and you look great too!
Not in black. I would return both. Cognac might be better and you can wear that color with everything you would wear the black boots with.
I love cognac, but I have a wedge cognac, heeled cognac & casual cognac boot already. Was trying to replace an older black boot that I don't really like, but I've failed for about 2 years. Between all my cognac ones, my grey ones, and the mushroom color OTK ones I own I probably don't NEED black, but I feel like I do. Crazy, I know.

I think part of the problem is that for years there was nothing wide calf and people were constantly demanding them. Now, they seem to be vanity sizing boots. I love my Duo ones, but wish they'd bring a couple of stores here. Buying them blind is not good, but they are my best fits.

Well, boo. I just ordered the first pair a few days ago hoping they would be stiff enough to be straight (like they are in the picture) and not slouchy. They shipped today so I can't cancel. :@

Leggs - the leather on the first pair is super thin. If it didn't say "leather" I wouldn't think it was leather. It slouches before I can even take a step.
I bought the Sam Edelman boots too. They came in yesterday and I returned them yesterday. I didn't like the weird ankle bunching thing it was doing. Sad face.
