We were in Half Moon Cay and Freeport on a Carnival Cruise in July. At Half Moon Cay (Carnival's private island), we just hung out on the beach. In Freeport, we went to the Grand Lucayan Hotel and paid for a day pass to be able to use their pools and beach. I think it was $15 each, and kids under 2 were free. FYI, if you want to go there - when you get off the port in Freeport, just take a group taxi to the marketplace; it will be a lot cheaper and the marketplace is less than a block from the hotel.
Yes, just the two of us! I can't wait to sleep in and get drunk haha. It will be Freeport and Nassau. I'm not opposed to skipping one, but which one?
OMG skip Freeport. For the love of god. But I have heard good things about the Grand Lucayan pp mentioned and we haven't done it, so maybe that would be fun.
For Nassau, it depends on what you want to do. I've done a day pass at an AI (Breezes - imagine if Jersey Shore was in the Bahamas), day pass at the British Colonial Hilton (much much nicer than Breezes, but doesn't include alcohol so, priorities?), booze cruise (SO MUCH FUN, but soooo much drunk), and just going to Junkanoo Beach is fun and more laid back than either of the party options.
I feel like if @this gravytrain225 and myself went on vacation it would
a) be a blast b) be the basis for some wacky rom com female adaptation of The Hangover c) somehow also involve us finding pirate treasure and saving a town ala The Goonies.

There is nothing in Freeport, nothing. Unless it's changed in the last 2 years, which I doubt. My Dad was there the first week of Aug and said it was dead. He's been going there for 20+ years for opening week of Lobster season.
IIRC, there is nothing at the Grand Lucayan, except a pool, and that is not all that spectacular. I actually think it was closed when we were there 2 years ago. It may be open again, but, it's just a pool. The straw market is sparse, at best. The one in Freeport was desolate; the one in Lucaya is better, but, not great. The casino is sad. That is where my Dad goes, and it's just dead.
I've been 10+ times, and we never go to Freeport, because there is nothing there. We stay in Lucaya. There is a show in the town square at night, it's actually kind of neat, but that's about it for entertainment at night.
ETA: I've been to Grand Bahama 10+ times; we go for lobster season, not on a cruise.

In free port we went on a tour with chad4nature and it was awesome. He has lots of reviews through tripadvisor it was snorkeling and kayaking and sightseeing. Ps I love cruises
My YS got married in Freeport @ the Grand Lucyan,(she had met BIL there the year before when they were both on vacation, he's from England) but that was 10 yrs ago? We enjoyed the resort, and went swimming with dolphins as well, don't remember much of the market place though really. DH (BF at the time) couldn't come so I roomed with my parents, womp womp.
