Coach outlet? H's coach (outlet) belts have lasted forever and still look brand new. While I don't remember exactly how much they cost, it was definitely not $150.

Your caveat is the deal breaker for me. We had a local leather guy make me a belt--it was $60 and is a single piece of leather. It's old now, but with a little bit of polish, doesn't look old by any means. Unfortunately, this weekend is probably out of the question.
If the belts are just separating but still look in decent shape, you could also just bring them to a cobbler to get re-stitched. Unfortunately, if they start to crack or whatnot, that's not a fixable thing. Good luck finding your DH a belt!

Another vote for the Coach outlet. MH loads up on them when they're priced below $40. This happens pretty often, so just be on the look out. According to MH, they are the most durable belts around and they still look new after years of wear.
