I did this with my first pregnancy, I actually inserted the capsules vaginally to "prepare the cervix for labor".
For some reason I'm undecided whether I want to this time. First time I did go into labor spontaneously at 40w3d, and my water broke at home. Of course, I'll never know whether the EPO helped.
I haven't broke down and bought any yet. We had a good amount of sex with my first and I still went so late. Maybe this weekend if I feel desperate I'll get into it.
I bought some today after a crappy midwife appointment. Not sure yet if I will actually use them. I have been taking red raspberry tea tablets though. I took them last time and had a short labour.
I wish I had picked some up, but now that I'm overdue I feel like there's not much point. I'm coming around more and more to the idea that he will just come when he's ready. I am taking long walks everyday and sitting on an exercise ball to work, but I feel like that's more to help with positioning than anything. I have been drinking raspberry leaf tea, but only a cup a day, so that's probably not enough to do much. I'm just hoping the months of BH will be worth something once labor starts!
Alright can I be totally dumb here?!? I didn't use tea or EPO with my daughter and delivered her at 40w1d but I sure was trying everything I could to get things started. Lots of walks, walking curbs, spicy food, pineapple and sex-- anyways I am sure I would have been willing to try this too if I knew what to do. So are the EPO pills similar to fish oil in shape and does it dissolve when taken vaginally???
