Those aren't liquids and don't have to be pulled out and checked and hold up the line.
Liquids don't need to be pulled out and checked, either. How many airplanes have been blown up with liquids?
One. The guy who bombed the World Trade Center the first time built a bomb on a plane over the pacific with liquids he had smuggled on in a bottle of contact solution. The only reason it didn't take the plane down is because that specific plane had been reconfigured and the seat that should have been over the fuel tank wasn't. Mass bombing planed bound for the US like that was al Qaeda's original plan before they opted to fly into buildings instead. As far as security goes, the 3-ounce rule is the restriction with the most justification.
Hey, sorry ladies. I didn't realize this board was meant for mothers only. This board was linked in a Facebook page that lists abuses by the TSA. I thought I was on-topic.
Didn't mean to invade or troll. Have a good weekend!
Ha, you don't need to leave! We need new blood This specific board is parenting related. We have another male though! I think the other boards (like our politics board) as other males as well. Didn't mean to make you feel like you had to leave.
Why not just bring the container of powder in your carry on and buy a bottle of water if you were delayed and needed to make more bottles?
DD doesn't drink powder. I'd prefer not to experiment during a delay to see if she takes it when it was no inconvenience to me to bring the RTF stuff she does drink.

Ah. Maybe next time just bring the cans in a cooler without pouring them into bottles? Fwiw, I get why you were worried about it. I've been on many a cancelled flight. It's almost a joke at this point.

This formula is sold in bottles that have an opaque peelable layer over the bottle and the cap, and a foil layer that covers the hole once you break the peelable layer and unscrew the cap. They don't have to be refrigerated until you open them. These are the bottles I brought. The actual baby bottles with nipples that we pour the formula into for drinking were empty.
For the love of god, who the HELL on this board is sharing threads on facebook?
This reminds me of the time I almost shit my pants because I saw SIL post a thread from ML on FB. bricco's sig picture was the thumbnail photo; she posted an OP about teachers and I guess it went viral somehow.
I don't care about the liquids or the line hold up. I get so annoyed at people that have so much carry on so that when other people with one bag get on, they have to sit away from their bag or have to check their bag even though they followed the rules. I am not saying OP did or did not follow the rules but the more you bring the less likely you did. I am looking at the people with the huge rolling bags.
People wouldn't bring huge rolling bags if airlines didn't charge an arm and a leg to check them. Customer service is so terrible that I hate flying. ::shakes cane::

I really like the model of charging for carry-ons and checking bags for free. It's really more logical (if an airline is going to charge for baggage).
I don't know why the "new guy" is getting called a troll and having his opinions berated. I agree with him. The rules are absolutely arbitrary and based on baseless fear.
That said, I still think 120 oz. of RTD formula is excessive for a carry-on.

Because he's disagreeing with people. Can't have that. LOL that security theater is respected, but OP is accused of "theatrics".
No, 20 on the way to the destination because I didn't want to find Target the minute we got there and they all fit so why not. 15 on the way back in case we got stuck at the airport. I had 9 on the way back but I went to Target the night before our flight home to pick up an additional 6 because I'd rather go to Target while I still have the rental car than go under flight duress. Though we were lucky and came home with only a 1 hour mechanical delay.
Honestly, this is not helping your case. I can see if you had 15 bottles still and wanted/needed to bring them all home. 9 sounds like plenty. That is two full days worth of formula. Did you seriously think you would be delayed more than 48 hours? This does not even count the fact that your child is old enough to eat solid food and could be given food if you really felt the need to try and stretch out your formula.

It is not just for moms or even parents. Non-parents post sometimes too. Don't feel you have to leave.

I have no case. This is what happened, people don't agree, TSA let me through both ways but gave a lecture and severe roll eyes one way. If by solid food you mean 2 oz of pureed squash on a good day, then yes, she eats solids.
sent I am an over preparer and it is totally a control issue. I think over preparer is a typical syptom of a desire to be in control. Overpreparing makes me feel in control! I don't think it is a harsh statement, just reality. There is nothing wrong with needing to be in control
ALSO - WHY don't airports sell formula? That is kind of weird since it is something people could obviously need. They could sell those little power packets or something.
ALSO - If i was somehow stuck unable to leave an airport for days on end. I think my baby could drink WCM to survive the few days. But maybe I am a terrible mom lol. I add some OJ in there so he wouldn't get scurvy.
they don't? I know my hometown airport has a drugstore in it.

I don't think I have seen it before, but granted I don't look. Ours (as far as I know) just has touristy type shops. You can buy motrin or whatever there but I haven't seen formula.

I travelled for about 24 hours with two five hour flights when ds2 was 6 mos. Sent still packed more than twice the number of bottles than I packed. So I definitely think it's excessive but I also agree it's pure security theatre and ridiculous to have such arbitrary and inconsistently enforced rules.
