So the British guy from match (we haven't met yet, have tentative plans for this week) and I have been texting a little. I've made a concerted effort to just go with the flow and not come across as a Stage 5 Clinger.

Anyways during texting I mentioned my Keurig broke and I was researching new coffee makers. He asked how long is had it and I said 3 years. He then proceeded to tell me to buy a new one, replace out dirty parts and then return it to the store. He said if they question me"deny,deny,deny".

It really rubbed me the wrong way, what are your thoughts?

I responded to the original idea with "Ha! That's an idea." And he then texted me again "no seriously, customer service blah blah blah..."

I don't know that I can handle "cheap", fiscally responsible and not living above your means, yes; but not cheap.

I guess he didn't technically ghost, we went from texting a lot to then not hearing from him for a few days.  

I think I'll follow mp and let the contact peter-out and if he's still persistent then I will let him know.

I don't think it would be too bad to mention it casually, since he's already made it clear that he wasn't joking. Something like, "Your suggestion about returning my coffee maker was a huge turn off. I really don't see this going anywhere."

But you definitely don't owe it to him. And he'd probably just use that as a heads-up to not expose his sketchy nature to the next girl, rather than amend his ways and say, "Oh, yeah, maybe I shouldn't be such a scheming douchenozzle!" So on second thought, maybe you shouldn't mention it!
