I know this has been posted about in the past for a suggestion to improving hair health/dryness/shine (if I remember correctly).
So, what do you do with it? Warm it up so it's in liquid form and apply to hair as a mask then wash out? Any advice
(Funnily enough, we bought it for our dog's hair/coat. He has seasonal alopecia (balding essentially) and it was rec'd to us to mix in his food to minimize the balding.)

I apply to dry hair, just warming the oil in my hands (it melts pretty much instantly). Put my hair up in a bun, put a towel on my pillow, and sleep on it. Then wash out in the morning. I use it once a week or so as an overnight deep conditioning treatment.
In a grocery store, which aisle would it be in? I've looked in the baking section and ethnic foods, etc. I think I just haven't looked hard enough haha.
I did this last week and I LOVED it! I can totally see a difference. My Kroger has it in the health food section.
I just scooped some out of the jar and rubbed it into my hands (where it turned to liquid - this part got a little messy) and ran it though dried hair. I did it at night so I put it up in a bun and let it sit until I washed it in the morning. Some say to cover your hair (shower cap) but I didn't have any transfer.

At my local grocery store it's in the natural foods section, where they sell all the organic and vegan type stuff.

- I have usually seen them in the same isle with the oils. And I have gotten it seveal times in TJ Maxx.
I bought ours at Whole Foods; it was in the vitamin aisle. I think it was $10. I also realized that our natural foods pet store sells it too (but it was more expensive there)
i warm up the coconut oil by rubbing it between my hands. then, i apply it to my dry hair before working out (mainly the ends). after i work out, i wash it out. it is such a lovely and cheap hair treatment - i love it.
Also, I read directions somewhere that said to leave it on for an hour and then rinse it. I couldn't really get it out of my hair with water alone. Do you shampoo it out or just rinse a lot?

I have very color treated hair (red and blue) and I use it without any issues! I also do the hour-long deep conditioning with it, and I wash it (with sulfate-free shampoo) out of my hair.

I'm glad you posted this! I've had a jar sitting in my pantry for the last few months or so lol! I used it in my hair tonight and love the results! I only left it in for an hour or so (i'll probably leave it in overnight next time). It was perfect timing because I just ran out of my conditioner.

my hair is color treated, too, and i have had no problems.

My hair is highlighted and I've had no problems.
I leave it on overnight then wash out in the morning using a low-sulfate or sulfate-free shampoo.
