So I've decided that nude lipstick just isn't my thing, am I the only one? I like lipstick and my lips too much to try to make my lips "disappear" for lack of a better word.
It's quite possible I haven't found the right color but I much prefer a nice neutral, MLBB color. I really like the Nars Coup de Coeur that I got a while back and Ulta's mineral gloss in blush crystal is another one.
I keep trying to like me in nude lipstick, and I never ever ever do.
Eyes: I played with the bolder end of IT Naturally Pretty. Violet and then I think I went over it with Iconic, Noir in the crease/v and as (winged! I swear!) eyeliner. Then I highlighted with champagne truffle from CB. They're Real mascara.
Lips: some NYX butter gloss that looked more berry in the store, but now I've got a good holiday red.

1) you look GREAT! 2) when did you cut your hair??? I love it!
Thanks! It was a little while back, the last time I had cut it was 2 days before J was born and I didn't want to go a whole year. My goal is another cut before the holidays. But it looks better actually done
Alright, here's a thing: I remove eye makeup with Vaseline because that's what 90 year old ladies with fabulous skin do. Counter argument?
It's not good for your eyes I've heard. But that's all I've got.
I don't know. There's super-duper eye ointment for really dry eyes that's mostly petroleum jelly, so I can't imagine vaseline is that bad. Unless vaseline as a brand has secret non-petroleum-jelly ingredients.
ETA: But then, I don't know what exactly the ingredients are in my own makeup remover, even though it SAYS it's for eyes and sensitive and whatever.

I would think that it would be hard to remove the leftover residue, especially from lashes and lash line, which would make for runny makeup later. It's why I don't use coconut or jojoba oil either.
heyjude and SallyJ, I don't mind loose shadows but I don't use a brush, I dab my finger onto the shadow that's on the cap and tap it onto my eyelid. I probably just need to go to the store and play with colors.

I saw a "radient orchid" tutorial using a loose shadow and it was stunning! She dipped her brush in water and got a super pigmented look.
L'Oreal Iced Latte on lid with MUFE Black Gold in the crease (I'm less impressed with this shade than with the Olive Grey I wore yesterday. I'm not sure if it's my primer or the shadow, but it took a lot to get it to stop looking patchy when I blended) and MAC Water Willow as liner. Armani Maestro foundation, MAC Animal Instincts blush, and Bite Blackcurrant on lips.
I'm not sure if my trouble with the winged liner is that I'm using a pencil or that I'm just too scared to really get the line out there enough to be obvious in photos.

I want that Bite set in the tin if the colors are different from last year. Hard to tell in that pic. I bought the 2013 high pigment pencil set and I'm happy with them.
I did it!! This is the most even my eyeliner has ever been, woot!! Also got my eyebrows done today by my regular person and they look so much better. Trying the new YSL ink fusion foundation, it feels wonderful on my face.

So pretty! Also, I need your eyebrow person's name.

You look fantastic! Your skin looks flawless. What's in your lips? It's a pretty color!
I met heyjude today! She is lovely! And we celebrated our meeting by buying matching palettes from the Cosmetic Company outlet. Because of course we did.

Two challenges in one: blue cat eye eyeliner and crease color. My lips have a wicked dry spot right now that is making lipstick cling funny to just that spot so I am just using clear lip balm for now.
I bought the UD Full Frontal set (I had to, I love their lipstick) and wore the Crush color yesterday. Lasted all day, even through drinking and eating, and I got several compliments on how pretty the color was. I hope they make it permanent. It was super bright, but it'll be a fun summer color to wear with a hat and big sunglasses.
Also the Cosmetic Company Outlet was nice. It was small, but it had lots of high end brands - Smashbox, MAC, Clinique, Bobby Brown, Estée Lauder, and a couple others. It was a mix of past limited edition stuff and current products. It was very nicely organized, everything was in the original packaging, etc.
Everything seemed to be at about 25-40% lower than retail. The selection and pricing was not so fabulous that I'd go far out of my way out of my way to visit (unless heyjude also makes the trip, of course!), but it was good enough that I will go every time I'm near one.

Ditto!
I'm glad we checked it out because I'm in love with this smashbox palette! The Bare Minerals outlet store was more disappointing.
Speaking of the smashbox palette, I read a review that said the 4th shade on the top can be used as a blush and the first shade on the bottom can be used as a highlighter.
