Hey when the heck is that beautiful, beautiful Hourglass eyeshadow palette going to be at Sephora? I need a neutral combo about as much as I need a broken bone, but I want it anyway.
DH just came home with a $50 gc to Sephora for me. What do I get?! I feel like I have just about everything I need. I do have Buxom lipstick set and a cream eyeliner in my cart so far.

The Modernist? I've seen rumors about January, but haven't seen anything definite. IT'S SO PRETTY, THOUGH! Seriously, it's in my top 5 favorite makeup purchases from 2014 for a reason.
Smashbox on the Rocks was waiting for me when I got home today.
It looks just like UD Smoked. So it's going back. There are less browns and nudes in UD Smoked but I have CB and the naked dupes so I think I'm good on browns and nudes. Not a good reason to keep On the Rocks.

Lots of makeup thoughts tonight 1. I bought Mac fix + tonight for a wedding I attended. I bought the mini bottle for $10. That was money well spent. I used it for a really bold turquoise/emerald eye and it looked awesome. Highly recommend. 2. I recently bought smash box face primer and for the first time ever my makeup/blush didn't disappear. I've used benefit porefessional and that did not help my lasting power so I am super pleased with smash box. I will definitely repurchase. 3. I love too faced eyeshadows. I bought the everything nice palette and chocolate bar and abso-freaking-lutely love them. Especially everything nice which makes me feel bad cause it's not available anymore but make a note to buy next years holiday palette. Fluffing love! 4. I bought stila liquid liner which is a pen and not a brush and I am a big fan of the pen now. It's so easy if you go slow with little flicks. It doesn't work if you try to draw a complete line but the little flicks are working awesome. I even did decent wings tonight.
Finally, anyone know how to get hair to curl at the root like Marilyn? I can do the curls like the last pic but I never get curl at the root or with as much volume. Tutorial rec?

Re: Bold turquoise/emerald eye - where's the pic?
Re: Marilyn hair - I believe old school rollers will give you the root volume.

I have pretty straight hair. No natural curl. I will have to play with my hot rollers this week. If I can pull a pic of our dslr I will post but my iPhone takes shit pictures and washes out everything to nothing.

Try actual foam rollers. I think a lot of it is teasing as well.
You're gonna need a wet set to get those curls. I'll try to find the blog I'm a fan of when I get home from work. I think it's like Bobby Pin or something like that.
I'm starting to figure out the logistics and rules of my no-buy for 2015. I definitely don't need to buy any color products, and can probably get by at least 8-9 months on moisturizer and skincare. I'll probably need foundation and primers within 4-6 months, and don't have enough hair care products to make it more than 2-3 months. So I'm thinking no color cosmetics, and no other products unless I'm dealing with empties.
Also, FOTD:
Eyes are Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks in Moonlight and Amethyst with Edward Bess Cosmic Bliss #3 in the corners. Face is Armani Maestro foundation with Benefit Rockateur blush and Lipstick Queen Medieval lipstick.
Yesterday I behaved myself pretty well, even with my Sephora return. I swapped the Hourglass 1.5mm liner for a fresh MUFE 18L liner. I also bought MAC Teddy liner thanks to someone raving about it here. I applied it last night after I got home and decided that so far I love it.
Apparently 2015 will be the year of the eyeliners for me.

Oh. I also recieved a $200 gift card from my dad for the jc penny sephora (blessing and a curse) and I need help with how to spend it. I know for sure I want to get the clarisonic Mia. After that I'm not sure. I have all in the light, moment, and garden from stila. Too faced everything nice and chocolate bar. I have urban decay naked 2 and ammo palette. It naturally pretty and a tarte blush palette. I'm not into high end lipstick. I'm happy with my revlon lip products. I also bought a set of four stila liquid liners and I have a set of smash box and urban decay pencil liners. I also just bought smahbox face primer and have a shit ton of eye primers. I thought about getting a beauty blender set. Currently I have the real techniques dupe as well as a real techniques buffing brush. Hmm, I only have loreal lumi foundation which I like. Because I bought and have yet to open tarte's bon voyage I thought about returning that to my regular sephora and getting the ambient light palette and purchasing bin voyage thru Jcp but I might just keep Bon voyage. Hmmm.... Should I wait til spring to spend the rest or is there another must have item I should look for.

I bought some but I'm a bit inept at getting them in my hair. I bet that is the best way though.

Teddy is my rave, isn't it such a pretty color and goes on so easy?

I know you like the L'Oréal but I would sample some high end foundations and powders. I'm loving Nars Sheer Glow and Armani Luminous skin.
How about concealer? I'm a total pimp for Nars Radiant creamy concealer.
Sounds like you have a lot of eye shadow but how are you for blush? Maybe some Tarte or HG blushes?
Do you need a tightliner set? The LM set is the best.

What is your favourite curling iron? While I have curly hair, some of it is getting less curly due to having much straighter white hairs (that I dye). So I thought it would make sense to have a curling iron for those times when I really want my curls back (aka going out).
I am entirely jealous of your brows. I plucked mine so much in my 30s that I can't grow them back now. Sigh. Yours are fabulous.
Aw, thank you! I spent decades hating my eyebrows, but finding a good aesthetician has made a world of difference in how I feel abot them. That, and the current trend for thick brows.

I have a hot tools 1 inch. I like it a lot. It heats up fast and I like the clip. I have thought about getting a wand but I'm a bit leery. I'm worried about burning the cuss out of my fingers.

Hot tools, 1" barrel. Maybe 3/4 barrel if you have chin length or shorter hair.

I have a wand and it is a disaster. I also have two different glove things to try with it and they just make my hair frizzy.

Yes! I thought it would be similar to my Chanel Ambre but it's much more bronze. It went on so easily and just looked RIGHT without looking like eyeliner, if that makes sense. I'll have to use it in a FOTD soon.

I have a curling wand and I hate it. I burn the shit out of my fingers every time because I can't get a handle on my hair with the glove on. It makes pretty curls, but it's a bitch to use.
Those of you who said Vice 3 was powdery were right! I'm still feeling out how to get in on a brush without having a powder bomb. It is oh so pretty, though.
The Amazonian clay shadows in my Tarte Bon Voyage set are really pretty. They're not as pigmented as CB or Vice 3 (I haven't used some of the darker shades yet), but they're really nicely build-able. I like it as an everyday palette.
