I was just coming in here to see if anyone knows what the beauty breaks are for ULTA tomorrow. My 20 year (gulp) HS reunion is coming up, so I'm using it as an excuse to buy the It Naturally Pretty palette.
I have a meeting/interview tomorrow for a position that a friend recommended me for. I'm planning on wearing a black dress with a green blazer but am stuck on what makeup to wear. I usually go fairly basic with my face and add in some bright pink or red lips. Would that be too much for an interview and with the green blazer? It's spring here too btw.
what kind of green? Red lips are classic and go with everything - but I'd be wary of looking like a Christmas elf depending on the shade of your blazer.
Although I just realized you posted this yesterday and probably already had your interview. Hope it went well! What did you end up wearing?
Nope it's today! It's a bright green blazer. Very spring but I was worried about the Christmas thing with red and green. I'm thinking I'll do bright pink lip with nude eyes.

For an interview, I'd go more toned down, like a YLBB shade. You don't want to be memorable as "the person who wore the crazy lipstick."

ALERT!
HSN has Chocolate Bar and a primer for $49. I'm watching it now, but it looks like it is also available online. They have free shipping, and you can split it up into two payments.
ETA: That's what I get for not keeping up with the thread. Carry on.

The real deal is when you can use the $20 off "new customer" coupon.
You look great! What are your reviews of the samples?
Thank you!
Here's some reviews: Be a bombshell one stick: this product is designed to be used as an eye, lip, or cheek cream product. Love it for cheeks, meh for lips, and HATE it for eyes.
Pixy bronzer: this is probably my favorite thing I have gotten from ipsy. It was a full size sample but when/if I run out I will definitely repurchase.
Tini beauty cream shadow: I like the color a lot. Application is a little weird- it looks like a lip gloss. Takes a little longer to set than I would like.
BH cosmetics eyeshadow: I have a few of these in different colors/ formulas from ipsy. This one is baked and it is the only one I like. The rest of the eyeshadow I have from this brand sucks.
UD perversion- I am really liking this so far. I've only worn it twice so not totally sure yet.

ETA: I busted out all the samples I got from that double beauty break a few weeks ago (benefit + smashbox) I'm actually wearing both primer and foundation (smashbox pore reducing primer, benefit oxygen wow whatever that's called). Meh to both of those? this is my second time trying the benefit foundation. It's very light, goes on nice, blends out well...but with both that and the primer I honestly just don't see much difference. I dunno. There's a reason I don't bother with this stuff on a daily basis. I think if I'm going to bother with foundation I kinda want it to be medium-full coverage because for that level of effort I want to see an impact. I want all my little spots and bits of redness to just be GONE. This doesn't do that, and it looks a little eh around my nose and chin
On the eyes I've got the smashbox shadow primer. We'll see how it holds up. It's weirdly thick in the tube - I had to squeeze the bejesus out of it to get any out. Feels kinda nice going on though. Also used one of those shadow card samples of the photo op shadow trio in filter. (browns. obviously) It's really hard to judge from those sample cards, but this seems nice. The midtone brown went on kinda patchy, but I'm not sure if that was user error, or the card, or the actual shadow. Also taking another stab at winged liner and kinda failing miserably...but I was out of time, so hiding behind glasses with my fingers crossed. Mascara actually is another freebie - but it's one I've had since early AMT and use daily - Ulta volumizing. Standard fairly wet formula with a brushy brush (as opposed to a rubbery brush). I really like a lot of the ulta brand products (when they're on sale) and it's almost entirely because I got a pretty hefty gwp bag that let me try a bunch of stuff out (lip butter, gel liner pencil, this mascara). So that's cool.
And finally, the winner of the morning - I tried out my benetint sample and I'm in love. Lolli and Posi are just ok for me, but this I adore. It went on really nicely, is a lovely shade for me (I think anyway) and it smells like rosewater. Win! it's on my cheeks and lips. It took a ton to actually show up on my lips though and isn't really viable to bring along for touchups, so I predict lips will be something else by lunchtime. I predict this will actually get purchased full size once my little sample bottle runs out.
pg[/IMG][b Eyes: naked 3, UD tornado to line, trying they're real again to see if I like it more with a primer. I will have to see how it does when I remove it
Face: sample of perricone me no foundation foundation. I love this stuff! Cheeks: mood exposure from the new hourglass palette. I love it! Dim light and the highlighter from the HG ambient lighting palette UD setting spray (sample) I have been using this for a little while now and I really like it
Lips: pixi balm that turns a different shade on each person
forreals you look extra lovely today. I really like that eye look.
Also @missusbee needs some "my lips but better" suggestions - so she should come in here and get ideas. I think you've got similar coloring? IIRC? Sorry missus, our dinner date was a long time ago. I know I've got MAC syrup on my list after you wore it forreals. (at least I'm pretty sure that was you). What else do you like that fits the category of "subtle everyday."

So I just got Chocolate Bar. Overall I LOVE it!!! My only complaint is that the milk chocolate color is not very pigmented. I had to really pack it on to achieve the first look in their look guide. I don't know if its just an issue of the color and my skin tone, or what not. The rest of the colors do not have that problem.

Yes, I tried lipstick for the first time ever this weekend and I like it a lot! It was a matte lancome kind, but in red which is too much for anything but a special occasion (for me anyway). So I want an everyday lipstick.
Also I want to upgrade my eyeshadows and have been debating forever between naked 2 and the too faced chocolate bar. I like nudes and browns and raisiny colors but look bad in anything greenish. Anyone have suggestions?

Do I need to post a pic of what I look like, lol?
we play show and tell here, so if you FEEL like posting a picture we'll all tell you how pretty you are. But it's not required.
what do you already have in terms of eyeshadow? I don't have the nakeds or chocolate bar - but just from watching what comes through here I'd lean chocolate bar. I think it's more versatile. Also the shimmer level in the nakeds is offputting to me, but that's just me. But chocolate is also a fair amount warmer than Naked 2, so...any clue if you prefer warm or cool tones?
ALSO you can get chocolate bar on hsn with a $20 off new customer coupon.
wawa I think I like warm tones. I like shimmer but I've been trying to move away from it lately for work.
I already AWd the shit out of this on Saturday night but I felt like a million bucks so I'll post it again. Very left field for me, but so fun.
I have only one eye look lately and its cheap drugstore stuff. Almay eye primer (which is too shimmery but I'm trying to use it up), a brown Almay shadow, a raisiny liner when I feel like it, and covergirl mascara that I hate. So, I'm in the market for everything new.

FOTD: Samples: MUFE HD blush and buxom powder that came in this month's ipsy bag. I am trying out my new melted fig. What do you think of the color on me?
ETA: I have to remember not to use the attachment option for photos, it's not working and hasn't for awhile.

My favorite is the MUFE birthday lipstick from Sephora. I think the color is N9.
A lot of the revlon lip butters make excellent mlbb colors for a very reasonable price.
OH and every mascara I've used lately ends up on my undereye area by afternoon. Help!
The only one I've tried that doesn't is the clinique lash power tube one. (Maybe all tubes are this way too?) It doesn't make spectacular lashes and it takes practice to get it off but no raccoon eyes. I think I've tried every mascara since the MT started. I've also tried the powder trick and that kinda works but not consistently.
You are so pretty btw. What beautiful eyes you have!!
