So we're going to break our usual homebody routine and go to a party tonight, and I have awesome eye makeup planned out. But I need a better liquid liner -- the Wet 'n' Wild I tried last weekend was pretty but had no staying power. Any recs for something under $10-15? I'm going to Sephora for eyeshadow and could hit Target, too.
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!
I'm about to go get dressed for my birthday dinner :-) I'm wearing a coral dress.
For some reason I'm thinking purple goes with coral, but I'm not sure. I could wear Bite Violet and Lollitint on my cheeks, but I'm not sure what I should do for my eyes. Also not sure Lolli is the most flattering on me, sadly.
I would probably do gold/warm brown eyeshadow. If you are doing bite Violet I would probably so either just bronzer or a neutral/warm blush like an orgasm/dupe.

I am also wearing Shameless today but I can't seem to get a good picture of my face. So you will all have to believe me that it's lovely and reads VERY purple on me.
Okay I have pictures now after like 50 tries. My hair is driving me crazy today. Eyes are Pretty Rebel with Girly, Jailbird, and Ringleader. Same liner, mascara, and face stuff as usual. Exposed blush, Revlon Shameless on the lips.
And with these gorgeous purple lips we have next week's challenge: bold lips
Strong colors Bright colors Dark colors
I know this might be hard for work, but see if you can do a bold lip for work. If you usually do bright, try dark. If you usually go dark, try bright. Bonus: do a purple lip
I would like to thank the MUT for this evening, with a special shout out to the Fall Fashion thread. I am at Yom Kippur break fast with a bunch of rich, fashionable Jews and I do not feel out of place! It's crazy what a well put together outfit, a good hair cut, and expensive make up can do for a girl's self esteem - especially in this crowd!
Now if only I could afford injections, I'd be golden.
I picked up the tarte blush palette today. I also have mac fever on the way (ordered with the RHPS lipstick). I think I'm done buying blush for a while.
If the WnW Melrose 5 pan palettes are indeed dupes for Naked 3, I may have to break down and buy it. I am LOVING the colors in both. The textures in the latest WnW stuff seem a lot more powdery than my Petal Pusher or WOE sets, but they're still manageable and the colors are great.
Huge thanks to jenni for sending me the one I couldn't find. I love love love the colors!
I went into Ulta today for a tube of Lorac primer (my favorite) since I'm almost out. I walked out with the primer, plus Naked 2 Basics, plus a set of three Lipstick Queen lipsticks, plus swatches of all of the Bare Minerals 5 in 1 eyeshadows so I could decide which to buy with the Sephora gift card that is burning a hole in my wallet.
Face: Lily Lolo foundation in Candy Cane, The Balm Sexy Mama Powder, UD All-nighter setting spray Cheeks: Nars Seduction Eyes: Chocolate Bar - Salted caramel, Semi-sweet, Candied violet, Cherry cordial and Triple fudge (I think, I can't quite remember) Sephora Waterproof liquid liner in Hollywood's calling, They're real mascara Lips: Body Shop lipstick in Clour Crush (I think? No 125 )
Speaking of Ulta, I need to retract one mean thing I've said in the past about the customer service, organization, and cleanliness of the one near me. I hadn't set foot in there in months, but I really needed eye primer, and since Sephora doesn't carry Lorac anymore I decided to bite the bullet and just run in and out of Ulta for it. I wound up browsing and buying more, though, because the store looked and felt totally different from the way it's been since it first opened 4-5 years ago. The displays were (relatively) neat, even on the drugstore side, three different salespeople approached me to ask if I needed help finding anything (and were then very polite and non-pushy when I said I didn't), and when I got in line to check out the girl who was straightening displays at the front (!) noticed me and immediately took me to her register. NONE OF THESE THINGS HAVE EVER HAPPENED BEFORE AT THIS ULTA!
I suspect they've gotten a new manager who actually gives a shit about customer service because there is no other explanation for the complete 180 turnaround in the look and feel of the store. No nasty looks, plenty of staff on the floor to answer customer questions, and displays that don't look like my preschooler just tore through them? AMAZING.
@majorwife, I bet your eyes would look amazing tightlined. Have you ever tried that?
People use lots of different liners but I'm still partial to the Laura Mercier set, which is a big upfront investment but lasts for a long long time.
i have to watch some tutorials. i think i would make a mess
I love the Laura Mercier tightlining cake. It's just a dry cake, you wet your brush (I use the Laura Mercier one because why not) and swirl it in the cake until it's a creamy texture, then dab it on your eyelid between your eyelashes. I found it easier than with a pencil.
