Ok I'm officially pissed at Ulta. I was going to use my 20% off code to get my SD's One Direction perfume (part of her Xmas gift) and lo and behold, it doesn't cover perfume.
@smorriso - I went to go buy that lipstick this weekend and they didn't have it. Is it an audacious lipstick? I didn't even see it on the display.
ps - you look fabulous, as usual.
Thank you! And yes, it is an Audacious lipstick. It's available via Nordstrom (free shipping!). Link
Can I ask you another question? Do you think that color would look good on me? Or would Anna be better? You seem to really know makeup, so just checking to see if you would know. :-)

Barbara is nice because it isn't what I call a "white out" nude. It has a warmth to it, like a peachy beige. It doesn't wash you out or an erase-your-lips nude.
If you're trying to add a warm nude to your collection, it's a great option.
If you tend to go cooler with looks, Anna is a nice alternative. I wouldn't really call Anna a nude though. It's a muted rose color, imo.
If you want nude, but more pink based, Julie is what I'd go for.
I hope this helps. I hate to say "Yes! Absolutely amazing on you," and you hate it. So I would go for something you're more likely to wear on a regular basis, more peachy or more pink.
Thank you! That is very helpful. I do tend to like warmer colors and was worried about it being too washed out. That sounds great.
SallyJ or anyone else who bought the lipsurgence set. Good? So so? There are so many good freebies at Ulta right now!
I just bought it but I like it so far. I tried most of them and they all are very wearable for me. Typically there are colors that don't work for me in sets like that, but this one is great.
Now, in terms of value, IDK. I do like the Lipsurgence formulation for their glosses, but I do like Tarte's maracuja oil glosses a little more. They're slightly more tacky but it gives them longer wear. The Lipsurgence set is $34 for 6 tints and two glosses, and QVC's set is $32 for 15 glosses.
I just pulled the trigger on Away Oiu Go and a bottle of the naked foundation for my sister. I knew she was paler than me, but apparently in ever foundation she's ever worn she's been the palest warm color they offer. Which makes it pretty likely that the 1.0 color is the right one for her.
I'm so jealous though because of course those are things I want for myself too. Fingers crossed for good stuff on clearance after the holidays...
My friend sent me this picture so I thought I would try it. I didn't have time to pull it up this morning when I did my makeup so I just went off memory. I used Vice 3 for all of it, though I should have pulled out my electric palette to get a brighter purple.

Apologies if this was already mentioned, but Sigma is having a two-day sale on individual brushes - 20% off. This is the most I've ever seen them discounted, so if you are considering any, now is the time to jump. You can also get free shipping with $50+, which is easy to reach. I just picked up four brushes.

Code: BRUSHCRUSH
Explain to those of us that have been zoning out which ones we should get. Please and thank you.

If she doesn't answer I have her list saved from MT2 (yes I saved it for future reference....ha!).

If you could C&P that, I'd appreciate it. I'm actually traveling so trying to recreate it would be difficult. All I can say off the top of my head is that the E25 and E40 have completely changed the game for me.
I have not had a chance to spend a lot of time getting to know them. Here's what I do know.
The liner brush (E05) is really, really good. the bristles are really densely packed together and it's easy to apply shadow wet and dry with it.
The E21 smudge brush I adore. It is really good for smudging out eyeliner, and the bristles are soft enough that it doesn't hurt when I do it, which was what was happening with my Sonia Kashuk brush. It also works nicely to apply shadow to the lower lash line.
I really like the E25 for applying shadow to my crease.
And the E55 and E60 are fantastic for applying color to the lid.

"Sigma E25/MAC 217 - I use this for the outer V and crease color. You can turn this sideways for a "thinner" brush to use in the crease, or turn it flat to create your V and/or get a wider sweep of intense color.
Sigma E55/MAC 239 - to pack color onto my lid just above my eyelashes. I also occasionally use this on its edge to apply highlighter under my brow bone.
Sigma E40/MAC 224 - single most important brush you can own for eyes. Use for blending all over for the final look, although I also use this for my V and crease when I'm dealing with a super intense color and want the color to be quite diffuse and gentle. It's also good for applying a neutral-ish powder base color all over the lid."
(I swear this is the only thing I have saved from MT2 (RIP) so don't ask me about anyone else's lost recommendations. )
I have the above 3 and I think the E25 is amazing! Also I ordered the E36 the other day based on EmilyNoel's recommendation of it.
I know this is going to sound crazy and someone please school me but the Sigma e55 does not perform any differently IMO than the $1 elf one of the same design.

Are all Z palettes the same? Are there any that are better than others?
Tarte's packaging for their Christmas sets from Ulta is just not practical. If I would find something that the little palettes would fit into neatly, that would be nice, otherwise I think I'm ready to start depotting those suckers into something a little less bulky.
