I've been on vacation and MIA. Promise to get back here soon...I know I've been tagged a couple of times.
Challenge decided yet? If not, I vote for Your Face Only Better/makeup free challenge. How little can you wear and still look polished? How can you slightly emphasize you, without adding very much drama?

This is my most favorite brush I own. It works great for liquid, cream or powder products. It holds the right amount of product and helps give a fantastic finish that is very even. I typically use it for my foundations, which are more creams, but when I go on vacation it's the only brush I take for foundation and powder. LOVE it.
I also own the IT Cosmetics Velvet Luxe LBD Foundation Brush and it is heavenly as well. It is sooooo soft. I use it for powder and have never used it for foundation. It is dense and holds the powder very well and helps it go on very evenly without much product. Some days I think it's too soft and feel like I'm rubbing my foundation off. It's not really, but it feels that way.
SallyJ or anyone else who bought the lipsurgence set. Good? So so? There are so many good freebies at Ulta right now!
I bought it and haven't had a chance to play with everything. My overall impression is that it is 75% neutral shades that all look the same. I needed more neutral in my life, so I don't regret the purchase, but I don't know that I highly recommend it to anyone else.
ajj I got a sample of the Dior Star you highly recommend and used it on vacation and in the last couple of days I've been back.
My review: Dior carries next to nothing for color matching for people who have red/pink in their skin. The closest match still looks too orange on me and I don't love that at all. It has a beautiful luminescent finish that makes my skin look like it glows, but isn't dewy. A little goes a LONG way. I don't like the tacky finish it has...it feels like my skin is suffocating a bit. It stays put, but feels like a primer and never seems to dry. The tacky finish also makes it very challenging to blend well. I don't think this is the foundation for me, but I'm glad I tried it.
I really want the philosophy resurface peel - I got a sample and it made my skin feel amazing. But I just can't bring myself to spend $70 on it. I keep putting it in my cart and then closing the window.
sigh..I guess I will be asking for this for Christmas.
THIS is an almost exact Olay dupe of the philosophy stuff. It's been a few years since I've used it, but it smelled the same, heated the same, and worked it same.
I've never used the Philosophy stuff but the Olay is my once a week treatment. It makes my face feel AMAZING!
I'm not sure how I feel about this one. Eye shadow is the darkest trio in Boudoir eyes. I liked the lid and crease colors (the crease was actually noticeably darker, and the lid would be nice as a crease color as well) but it all fell apart when I added the corner. Granted it's black, but the whole just took a negative turn. I blended way more than normal and added a whiter layer on top to salvage. It still feels dark and goth, but not in a Smokey way.
But now that I've repeatedly looked in the mirror and seen the pic I took, I'm pretty sure this is just all in my head because it's so far out of my comfort zone.
Only other thing different today is lip color. It's Laura Mercier in baby lips.

Aw, bummer. I'm sorry it didn't work out. I'm glad you were able to get a sample.
I tried it with a brush today instead of the Beauty Blender and I don't think it blended as well. With the BB, it works really well. The tackiness doesn't stay on me either. It goes away after it sets. I should try it without the Supergoop underneath and see what it does.

Oh, I got this in a package with the makeup remover, cleanser, moisturizer and night cream for like $80. I love that stuff! The sales lady talked me into the package when I went to get the cleanser and I really loved all of the stuff. Good thing!
The qvc beauty tube is only $19.99 today with free shipping! I grabbed a few to give as gifts, and maybe keep one for myself;) I've been wanting to try the exfolikate.
I got a small size of the Exfolikate with some points and love it. It is a bit harsh though. So, it feels like it is burning a bit and your face is a little red after. Or, at least for me it is like that. After all that my skin was nice and smooth though.
It definitely takes time adjusting to how your face looks more made up. A couple of my girlfriends do not wear any makeup, and many of the places I go are soooo casual. It took me a while to adjust to feeling normal in more dramatic eyeshadow, and I still have times were I feel self conscious and have to talk myself out of it.
I finally broke down and bought MAC Rebel. I though is be content with my WnW dupe but the real thing is a tough sheerer and is much softer and more flattering even though the colors are an almost exact match.
I just chopped off what feels like five pounds of hair and it feels so liberating.
greeneggs - I've been debating getting that color. You are making it hard to resist!
I kept talking myself out of it until I saw the holiday sets with the glitter packaging. Once it became a special limited edition thing I decided that I truly needed it.
In today's mail, I got a lovely red envelope from Sephora.
It contained:
An invitation to a VIB Rouge Holiday Soiree on Wednesday November 5, the code GIFTROUGE for 20% off between November 5-10, and a 20% one time use coupon for a friend.
If I am able to go to the event on the 5th, I may take a friend, in which case, I'll give the coupon to her. Otherwise, I'm happy to PM the code to someone.
Judging by the wording, the VIBs will also get a 20% off code and coupon for a friend, so there will likely be plenty of codes to go around for everyone here.
Oh oh me! Please if you don't give to a irl friend.
I will let you know! But, aren't you VIB? If you are, I think you are going to get a code, because the 20% off for a friend coupon says that it's for "Sephora VIB" friends. This tells me that even VIBs are going to get 20% off.

I don't think I am, how does one know? Ulta gets 90% of my monies.

Log in to Sephora and at the top of the screen, in the black bar, it will say BEAUTY INSIDER. If it does not say VIB next to that, you are not VIB. If you click on the link, it will tell you how much more you have to spend.
I'll PM you my code though if it doesn't get used. I probably won't know until the day before.
I have too many foundation samples and I'm starting to get them mixed up. I'm not even sure which one I put on this morning but my skin looks freaking amazing.
I need to organize my makeup. I have muji drawers but everything got all mixed up when we were decluttering to sell the house and it's a mess again. The big issue is I don't know what I have, which is probably related to having too much makeup. I just realized I had a paint pot in bare study that I didn't even know I owned.
I used my LM tightlining set for the first time in a while today and was reminded how amazing it looks. Highly recommend and I will go back and add to my "empties" review since I've repurchased the activator.
Can I get feedback on Lorac Pro vs Lorac Pro 2 vs Lorac Unzipped?
This would be a gift for someone who likes "a variety of colors" and "a mix of matte and shimmer."
I can't speak to the Pro palettes, but if you're looking for color variety I'd stay away from Unzipped. It's a very, VERY warm-toned neutral palette with less color variety than any of the Naked palettes.
