So I finally ordered a bunch of stuff from E.L.F that I've been procrastinating on. Found a code for free shipping, so that was nice.
Oh and a read a few days ago about the lurve of Philosphy products. I've only tried two, Amazing Grace perfume and body wash. I love them both sooooo much.
Thank you ESF and secretlyevil! I think I'll swing by Sephora today and pick out a pretty lipstick! I'll definitely play with the Bite products and probably also the Nars Audacious lipsticks.
Its very minimal. Fast though, which is nice. Tarte bb primer, magic eraser concealer, nyx matte bronzer as a very light wash of shadow and a touch on the cheeks, nyx cream blush in natural and nyx radiant finishing powder. Brown ulta liner to tightline and ulta volume mascara.
Bite lychee is the more matte lip, Revlon balm stain in honey is the slightly shiny lip.
This is just enough to me that it seems worth the effort. But only barely.
Thanks! Me too. I was joking about it on eponinepontmercy 's facebook page this morning - but I love having a cut that I can just let it kinda do it's crazy messy/wavy/fluffy thing and it looks reasonably ok. I stopped even blowing out/ironing my bangs and they're also behaving in a shockingly docile fashion. Of course like 2 days after I got this cut my girl announced that she's cutting back her hours to every other Saturday to focus on her other job. I'm afraid she's going to quit doing hair entirely and then I'll have to just show up at her house. (which...yeah, I used to do anyway since she's my BIL's exGF and has been cutting my hair since she started beauty school. But still. Not cool.)
Oh....right, that was the other part of my Ulta order - eponinepontmercy - I got that not your mother's beach spray and I like it. It's not crunchy at all, and gives just enough definition that I'm not full on fluff ball. Thanks for the rec.
I'm going to jump in here. I've been reading almost every day but not posting. Thanks to all of you, I've spent more money on makeup in the last month than in probably the last year. This is my me but better/five minute face. It happens pretty frequently, since I am just not a morning person.
Face: Jouer Matte Moisture tint (in Linen, which is a perfect match to my skin, which never happens!), Bare Minerals original foundation and Mineral Veil Eyes: Tightlined with Stila Smudge Stick in Lionfish, Tarte Gifted Mascara, Almay Pure Eyeshadow in Ivory (which they don't make anymore), and Cover Girl eye pencil in Soft Blonde - you can see my eyebrows better in person than in this pic. Cheeks: Physician's Formula Happy Booster in Bronze/Natural Lips: Sephora Glossy Lip Pencil in Glossy Beige
tiramisu, lipstick is my default pick me up too. Have fun!
I've got to get to sephora and get new samples of the Nars sheer glow and the HG veil fluid so I know which one to get. I think it's the NARS that I'm liking better but I'm not sure, lol.
Our "empties" reviews made me realize how much I like the few MAC eyeshadows I have and was thinking I might want to get more. I got a chance to swatch a bunch yesterday and loved a lot of them: Satin Taupe, Shale, cork, twinks, tempting, all that glitters, soft brown. and I think a couple others that I can't remember right now. @smorriso, aren't you our reigning MAC eyeshadow queen? Thoughts? I'm pretty much looking for neutrals in the browns and plums. I have Patina, Vex, Shroom, Woodwinked, Star Violet and Sumptuous Olive already.
I got my sephora haul, want to weigh in on what to return? Here's the bulk of it:
Keeping the shiseido eye cream, the Ole sheer transformation cream, the Josie Maran SPF 47 moisturizer. Keeping the HG blush in diffused heat-a really pretty buildable natural color Keeping Clinique dramatic high impact mascara. It's got some impressive volume, that's for sure.
Debating returning: - tarte Pin Up Girl Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Palette -pretty colors but I just don't know if I'll get a ton of use out of it. I don't tend to change my blush color but maybe I should and if so, this is a good palette for that. What do y'all think?
Anastasia dipbrow pomade with brush-It's dramatic but not "chola" eyebrows, at least not the way I do it. I was hoping it would help hold the hairs in place. This is still a maybe.
Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in Cin Cin - pretty coral but it's not as smooth as what I remember in the store/like their other lippies. Might go back or exchange
Smashbox Cherry Smoke Photo Op Eye Shadow Palette-ESF, I think you have this one. Pretty but I don't really need it and I worry it won't get much use. I think it's going back.
Urban Decay Vice3 -I think it's going back. I just don't do "fun" eyeshadow, i like "pretty"/natural eye makeup. That's why the TF chocolate bar is my favorite. Also, I'm eyeing some MAC shadows to put together a custom palette and I might save my money for that.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Sabbath and Urban Decay Black Magic 24/7 Glide-On Double-Ended Eye Pencil Set- think these might go back, especially since I was able to get the Marc Jacobs that forreals has after all.
Bite Beauty Mix N' Mingle Lip Minis Luminous Crème Lipstick Duo - Fig/Date and Poppy/Scarlet . I'll probably keep since they weren't too pricey.
Urban Decay Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush-haven't used yet. We shall see.
I missed the empties reviews, so I'll share a few of mine off the top of my head. They've all been used up and repurchased.
Jouer luminizing moisture tint - I flove this stuff! Pretty glow and better coverage/blurring than I usually get from a TM. Enough so that it's my go-to now.
UDPP, of course.
Chanel rouge Coco shine lipstick in Boy.
Lipstick Queen in Medieval.
Chanel kohl liner in ambre.
Davines Love shampoo & conditioner - leaves my hair soft, relatively tangle-free, and silky. I have straight, fine hair. This doesn't give volume, but nothing really does because my hair is so heavy.
Aveeno skin relief body wash
Eucerin calming body wash daily shower oil - I use this when my skin is especially dry, even though I don't love the scent, and it's a great shave "cream."
These are mascaras I keep going back to: Cover Girl Clump Crusher, Maybelline Full N Soft, Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara.
My Clinique order came in. Just from swatching I like the Black Honey stuff I got. The lipstick looks really pretty. The bonus stuff is also really great and I actually like the bag that came with it. I think I am going to put samples and other odds and ends in it, travelling. I can't decide but I can't wait to play with it all tonight/tomorrow more.

I use this too, I didn't think to put this on the list. It's the best for shaving legs. I still have to moisturize but it makes it so easy for the razor to glide over the skin.
I sort of met the challenge today, but couldn't resist doing a stronger eye with my new Hourglass palette.
Eyes are all the colors in the Hourglass Modernist palette (quick review: it applies and blends like a dream, but has some powderiness issues), cheeks are MAC Melba, lips are UD Naked glossy pencil, foundation is Hourglass Immaculate.

Of your list of wants I have all of them except tempting and soft brown
I also really like Sketch, Rice Paper, Expensive Pink, which I pair all together for a nice look. Naked Lunch goes really well with Satin Taupe, I also love Green Smoke with both Vex and Patina (separately). I also love Vex with Shadowy Lady. Cranberry or Sketch go really well with Woodwinked too.
Im trying to remember all that I have and wear together. I also have a ton of limited, which of course won't help you If I think of any more I'll let you know.
kittycatlove, I forgot, I did try expensive pink and it was really pretty. I was expecting it to be more pink, not the pretty rose gold it actually is.
I'll have to make another list with your and @smorriso recs and test them out again and make critical reviews and decisions. I bet I could buy six, depot them on the stop, get a free one for the containers. That's how my brain works, lol.
Speaking of combos do you or @smorriso or anyone else have a source for MAC eyeshadow combinations that are tried and true? That's something I'm not good at yet.
I am going to start using it tonight. I will report back in one week with my observations. If I like it, my Sephora sale purchase list will be a lot longer.

persa I don't know of any. I just kind of put together shadows I think will look good. I also used to frequent the MAC counter and had a MUA that I always went to who would give me good suggestions. I'm sure if you ask at the counter they will be more than helpful in putting together a palette for you and give you suggestions of what will look good together for starters. Then just go home and play with all the colors

I kind of want to try this. I can never decide if it's worth it to be too spendy on my face care stuff because I'm pretty young and have pretty good skin still. But on the other hand I want to have good skin for a long time.

Girl, start now. Particularly sunscreen. And if you're not trying to conceive, use something with some retinol in it at night to "toughen" your skin up. Vitamin C serum is a good choice during the day for the antioxidant properties.

I think this particular set (which isn't at Sephora, BTW) is a good deal if you are curious, particularly right now as it's still 20% off on the Ole site, if you want to try to see if any of it makes a difference. There's 7 products, and the sample sizes seem like they'll last 2-4 weeks, which is a good amount of time to determine if they work.

Thank you for posting this. I will buy it tomorrow when I get paid.

Oh trust, sunscreen is my number one non-negotiatiable. I have some kind of Neutrogena serum that I think has retinol that I use kind of every other night but often forget about.
I wanted to share my minimal-makeup-look FOTDs. The red shirt is yesterday, the other is Tuesday. By the time I reneged to take the Tuesday one I didn't have lip product on anymore, but it was NYX butter gloss in Tiramisu. Wednesday lipstick was Lipstick Queen in Jean Queen.
For both days, face was the same except for blush. Tuesday was Hourglass Mood Exposure, yesterday was NARS Sex Appeal.
Eyes on Tuesday were just my HG setting powders with MUFE Artist Shadow M-536 in the crease and Julep gel eye glider in smoky taupe shimmer. Mascara both days wad CG CC. Eyes on Wednesday were from the Paula's Choice Nude Mattes palette: cream on brown bone and inner corner, beige on lid, tan in crease, plum taupe to line.
Ok first, how do you love the Paula's Choice palette? I'm such a whore for her skincare.
Second, I just added sex appeal to my sephora bag. So thanks, lol. Would you say it's actually more natural than orgasm? Bc I actually have a hard time getting it to stay on all day. Maybe it's the brush I use.
I love the PC palette! The colors are all pretty similar but they look more different than you might expect on.
Sex appeal is definitely more natural than orgasm. My skin isn't super fair so I sometimes have to work a bit to build it up, but it gives a pretty, natural, subtle flush that's hard to overdo.

I put this is my cart last night! I just haven't pulled the trigger yet.
