Isn't the big issue that he stole it from another artist?
That was why there was a deposition I'm the first place. They were accused of stealing from Stevie Wonder. I'm guessing that his confessions will get more press coverage, though.

I thought it was Marvin Gaye? I also thought the lawsuit partially came about because Robin Thicke gave an interview where he SAID he based this song (he now is saying he had no hand in writing) on the Marvin Gaye Song "Got to Give it Up." So, after causing the shit storm, he's all like, "not it!" Pharrell Williams has no problem taking full credit, apparently. LOL. Which is sad, because I liked Pharrell Williams. He cried on Oprah!
Who knows. They certainly cared a year ago. I'm amused because everyone was swooning over him and that stupid song and I always thought he was a DB. Confirmed!

Oops. I think you are right that it was Marvin Gaye.

If Pharrell is taking full credit, then perhaps my one cynical thought is baseless. But initially I thought "oh, isn't it convenient that now you claim you had nothing to do w/ the writing of a song that people are claiming you ripped off...". It felt a little like he was throwing Pharrell under the bus. But if Pharrell agrees that he wrote it - then that's on him.

Yeah. I think in a deposition for the court case Pharrell took full credit. Granted, I have only read, like, one article about this, so, I could be wrong. I don't know the Marvin Gaye song, but now I am tempted to listen to it. Is it like "under pressure" and "ice ice baby"?
