I just got an epilator this week! Have you tried doing it after you shower? (same idea as the washcloth) I'm so happy with the results - although I have to admit I 'cheated' because to start out my sister and I are doing it on each other so someone else is controlling the pain, lol
I did the warm washcloth and also exfoliated a bit before. I've gotten my underarms waxed once and it took like a million rips to get everything, so maybe I just have really stubborn hairs there??!
I think if I'm sure the results will be good I can keep going but yowza this is real pain here.
I have bikini zone- think that'll work? Hopefully I don't get tons of ingrowns or anything... Do you use an epilator for legs/bikini? I really just wanted to do it for my vacation but hope it doesn't wreck my pits ha!

Yes! Bikini zone will work!
I'm also way too scared to use it on my legs, lol. I really only use it on my bikini area, and I really like it for that. I've gotten used to it, so it doesn't really hurt at all unless I go too long without doing it.
The hair may be too long. Shave. Then starting tomorrow, do it. Even if it grabs a few hairs the first day, it will be easier. Do it every day, then do touchups.
I find when the hair is too long it hurts like hell, so I shave and start over the next day. Within a week I am caught up.
That's part of the problem I think! But the issue is that I'm going on vacation Saturday morning so I wanted to try to do it tonight and then have a "day of rest" tomorrow. I'm trying to tough it out lol but wow. Ouch.
Renata- I feel like childbirth will be a breeze after this.....!!! Ok mildly kidding but seriously, I have a high pain tolerance and this is like over the top!
Gotcha. If you get through it, you will love not having to shave your pits! If it's any consolation, once you get it done the first time--which is awful---, it's actually the least painful part of the body to do the next time. Just stay on top of it and don't let it get long. Knees are killer for me.
Adlove, I had the same experience as you. The first time I used it on my underarms, it was a total process. It definitely was easier painwise to maintain if I kept up with it regularly. It's also much easier to do after you get them waxed. For whatever reason, I stopped doing it. But I'm also now seriously considering getting laser removal.
For me, my legs is the easiest but I think it's because my hair on my legs is really fine. I just do it once a week and there's really no pain for me at all.
I didn't read other replies but I think this is something that you just get used to. Drink a glass of wine and just dive in!
FWIW I used to do both of my legs and my bikini line and gave up on my legs because I couldn't get the ingrown hairs under control. I still do my bikini line though and it doesn't even hurt anymore.

Sally sells a numbing cream that helped me, and a balm that you rub on afterward. Ditto using a super hot washcloth first to open up the pores and soften the hairs.
I thought my legs hurt worse than my underarms and bikini line!
