Should I call the pedi for this?

Last Monday J was tugging at his ears so we took him in; double ear infection. The pedi prescribed antibiotics. We are done with them tomorrow. He's still tugging a bit. Problem is, we're flying next week.

The pedi told us to follow up in a month but if we didn't think he was getting better we could come back in but there might not be a lot they could do because ear infections can stick around for awhile.

Would you call and try to have him seen before we leave for vacation?

I would have him checked. DS had an ear infection right before we had to fly for Christmas and they just checked it to make sure everything is okay.

Yes I would but I also missed first ear infection so I'm a bit paranoid about this.

If you're flying definitely. I see grown adults who want yo scream in pain from flying with an ear infection. The pain from pressure changes while you have an infection can be horrendous

Yes, for sure, bring him in for an ear check. It took us three different types of antibiotics before we found one that knocks out DS' ear infections.

I would. Sometimes they need a longer course or stronger antibiotic.

I would have him checked. Flying with an ear infection is horrible!

Definitely take him in. He might just feel the fluid still draining (hence the tugging), but it's not uncommon to need to try a different antibiotic. It could still be infected, never hurts to check.

Our pedi was able to squeeze us in today since she knows we are flying. Fingers crossed!

My pedi have us numbing drops to put in my sons ears before flying for this exact reason. Ask about it, they really helped IMO
