My cousin is in the US right now and is offering to bring back stuff for the thanksgiving dinner that we're hosting. We can get some form of everything here, but it's just insanely expensive. ($8 for a box of stove top kind of thing)
I'm having a massive brain fart and can only think of stove top to have her bring back.
Besides stovetop are there any other nonperishables that I should have her bring?
I'm not sure if you make any of this stuff, but I figured I'd throw it out there and hopefully it will help. French's Onions for green bean casserole Marshmallow's for sweet potatoes or pecans for sweet potato casserole Canned cranberry (I don't eat this stuff but I know some people like it) Gravy mix (again, I don't eat gravy - I know some people make it from scratch, but some use the mix to make it)
Most of the stuff you can replace with homemade versions but they're more time-consuming (if usually more delicious. So I would ditto the canned cranberry jelly (which most of us prefer in my family) and I would go with canned pumpkin (and then doctor it up rather than the canned pie filling that's already pre-spiced). I've done the roasting your own pumpkin when I was in France and couldn't get canned and its not hard, per se, but time consuming.
I was going to say boxes of cornbread cubes to make stuffing but stove top kind of covers that. I'd say any other types of pie fillings if you don't want to make them? Besides that I think all others have been covered

If I'm making cherry pie can I just dump a can of cherry pie filling into a pie crust and call it done?
Thank you guys! I totally forgot about canned cranberry sauce. I feel like the Brits need to experience the canned cranberry in tube form.

Yep you can do exactly that. I'm not sure the sizes they come so # of cans it takes for one pie could vary.
