My shelf stable chocolate milk was sour last night. I took the little container out of the fridge after my run and just started drinking, but it was so bad I almost threw up. I am still traumatized and I'm hoping this doesn't ruin chocolate milk for me.
Susie I have a case of them (organic, even!) from costco, which is unfortunate, since I discovered my love for chocolate almond milk after I bought it.

Boo. I didn't know it goes bad like that. Was it within the exp date? Now I'm worried about giving them to my kid. (We have regular milk boxes, not chocolate.)

Finally a nice morning here. Cooler, rainy, breezy. Great day to run. I'm ONE mile from finishing and lightening hits. Dammit! Luckily I was just at my driveway but still. One more mile. I had to stop tho the lightening was so close I could feel the warmth. That's typical tampa lightening! Damn lightening capitol of the world! Stupid tampa! One damn mile. Lol
Shelf-stable chocolate milk exists? This is news to me!
Well I guess in my case it is more like not so stable chocolate milk. In theory, they are great for post long run, cause I frequently do my long run on the trail.

They don't expire till 2015 TMI, but mine had these little chocolate chunks floating in it so I had Mr. GT squirt a little of his in the sink before he drank his and his was fine.
I emailed the manufacture, they were really apologetic and seem like they would actually take some action if you need to worry about it.

I would be horrified if anything ruined chocolate milk for me.
We did a workout last night that was 3 very hilly loops at 10K pace (except it was waaaay faster than any 10K I've ever done!). We had done that workout before but it was a night where it was humid and pouring. After we were done, our coach congratulated us on not barfing. Because one guy did last time. Uh, OK?
I am kinda anxious about my race this weekend. I have not yet run that distance ever and everyone talks about how tough the course is. I just want to finish.
I took a second rest day yesterday (unplanned). I also ate all the carbs. So now I'm 10 miles in the hole for the week and will probably have to run every day until next Tuesday.

I've run it twice, and loved it! It has some serious hills, but if you run in the area it won't be unmanageable for you. You'll do great!
Day 2 of the Hal Higdon schedule and I didn't run this morning. I guess I'll be running in the 90 degree heat when I get home. Because there is no way in hell I will run once it gets dark. Not after the truck incident. NFW.
In an hour I will officially have only one day of work left before vacation- yay!!!!!!!! Can't wait to sit by the lake, drink some wine and get in some runs in some beautiful scenic spots.

I had to share my Snowville Creamery chocolate milk with my son this week. I didn't want to, but I did it. I hope he knows how much I love him.
I'm working tomorrow but will be off campus all day for a training.
I'm also thinking I'm going to take Friday afternoon off. I need to pick up my race packet for Sunday and I have some errands to run, and...well, I just don't want to be here on Friday afternoon.

My son sliced up his hand at preschool and had to get stitches. He had been doing a flower arrangement activity with glass vases and pitchers, when he tripped while holding a pitcher and fell onto it. But who gives glass objects to 2-3 year olds?? Argh.

What in the world??? I have an almost 3 year old, and cannot imagine this kind of activity.

I had a mammogram today. Now in addition to my sore legs, I have sore boobs.
All I want to do is run. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't loving the sleeping in and the eating what I want and drinking what I want for the week. I sure know how to recover.

Last year, my co-worker was the holiday food bad influence...this year I'm leading the fat kid train! Yesterday I brought in Red Velvet Cake Truffles I found at the discount grocery store. Today is National Apple Dumpling day, so I talked two girls into going to the local farm market with the best dumplings around to indulge with me. I'm terrified that my weight is going to skyrocket as soon as this marathon is over!

Who had preschoolers arrange flowers???
It's one of many activities the kids can choose to do at preschool. I had heard of it, but had always assumed the materials were plastic.

I'm wiped. I'm not sure if it's from my half or in general or I'm coming down with soemthing. I'm pretty sure I'm taking tomorrow off from work. I did a 5k last night and wasn't really running that hard but my legs felt like lead and bricks were tied to them. Please someone tell me it gets better. I'm considering doing a 7 mile trail race Saturday.
