when that nap goes soon, i will probably attempt to work out while L plays around me until i convince my h to work yoga or a ballet class for me into our budget. he will probably be easily convinced, i just need to suck it up and be willing to spend the money.
A big part of my problem is my preferred exercise is group classes. Ugh. Exercising is hard enough when you like what you're doing, much less when you don't.
I think it's time to get some dvds. Any suggestions?
I'll second PiYo. That's my Tuesday class and I love it.

5:15 ish am, depending on H's work schedule. I don't like to get up but that's the only time in my schedule really. I bought some DVDs this summer but I can't rec them because I never actually did them. I run, swim (occasionally) or lift weights.

DH and I switch every other night after dd is in bed. We both are there for story time then we take turns finishing bedtime stuff. The one not working out, cleanse up after dinner, watches TV, plays around on internet. It's usually between 8-9:30 we are finally able to work out. We could do it early morning, but neither do us can wake up, night is easier.
DH and I take turns doing daycare pick-up. So he goes to the gym twice during the week and I go twice during week.
We also make it a priority on the weekends. So we each take turns getting exercise first thing in the morning while the other one watches DD. Or sometimes we do a family hike.

I run/walk about 2 miles a day (M-F, at least) with the kids in a double jogging stroller, weather permitting. I also do short (15-min) Pilates videos or arm workouts in the playroom while the kids play.
I haven't been consistent at all this first year with two... sometimes I try to get both weekend days in when my husband can watch the kids. It is rare for DD2 to make it through the night without waking, and if she does, I'm too full to want to work out right away. If she has woken up overnight, I'm often too tired to want to work out first thing. I am trying to get in a groove of working out when the older one is at preschool, but there always seems to be something else I need to do then. I think I'm about to add another day of preschool to help with it though.
I have a couple of Jillian Michaels DVDs for days when I stay in - one is a shorter cardio kickboxing one, about 25 minutes tops, good for the "better than nothing" days. The second is Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, about 50 minutes long, and it usually kicks my ass pretty well.

5:30 in the morning or during lunch. I loved my lunch time workouts because it cleared my head and gave me energy for the afternoon but work has gotten crazy that I am back to mostly morning workouts.

At 4:30am a few days each week or around 7pm when my older kids are watching TV and the baby is asleep. I run on our treadmill or do a DVD. I'm loving my 21-Day Fix DVDs right now.
During the witching hour Obvs I sah, so I have that option, but we hit the gym after nap and before dinner. It's been pretty life changing all around.
You have said this before and I think it's so brilliant. I wish I could do it but I think I would probably rather gouge my eyes out with a spoon than drive anywhere in LA between 4 and 7 PM.
Sigh. We need to move to within walking distance of a gym.
I do two pretty intense 90 minute yoga classes during the week, after H is home and DD2 is in bed. I also do a Saturday morning yoga class (just an hour), and I do other exercises at home while the kids are running around. I am on the last week of these programs right now which are good for strength building at home:
I also try to make it to a barre class once a week. Typically that's on Sunday, or maybe on a weekday night if schedule permits.
My yoga studio comes with a full gym membership too, they just don't have childcare. I am thinking I might start staying after yoga on Saturdays to do some weight training or cardio.
Always in the morning. I drop one kid at preschool, get the other on the bus and then take the baby out in the jogging stroller. Or go to a barre class and bring her to their daycare.
I have my routine and it's super important to me. And I'm training for a half so it's necessary lol
If there is no school I do a spin class or barre class so I can take all the kids to the daycare. In the summer my older 2 had camp so I kept my school year routine.
