So this year is our 10 year anniversary and I have no clue what to get him. Any suggestions? Specific links are welcomed and encouraged. I'll be posting and running, but I'll be back later.
What do you guys usually do to celebrate? What kind of stuff does he like or hobbies is he into?
Is there any way to have someone watch the kids and take a short weekend trip somewhere?
We usually go out for a nice dinner and do a nice present. He likes golf and such, but hasn't played at all since we moved (nor does he have a lot of opportunity here). His hobby is work so that doesn't help.
We are taking the kids on a weekend away because we can't get a sitter for the whole weekend. We considered going away while either of our parents are here visiting, but we don't trust either set of them to watch the kids here. Hell, I can barely figure stuff out, I wouldn't want to leave them to try to figure out things if there was an emergency.
Other years we give the each other the gift of time and experiences with day trips, overnight trips or last year we took a road trip to Yellowstone.
I like the idea of postponing it until you can get a sitter. Is there a restaurant you have always wanted to go to? A drive along the coast (not sure where you live)

I bought him a nice etsy key chain a year or two ago that has our names and wedding date on it. He doesn't carry it. :N:
I don't know when it will be when we can get an overnight/weekend visitor. I don't trust any family here since they have no idea where things are/how things work (we just moved to London and its a big change from the US). I would have to find a nanny or someone and who knows how long that will take! In other words, I'm looking for a physical gift because I don't think I can pull off a trip at this time.
I am trying to plan a dinner in the private room of a nice restaurant with our wedding party as a surprise for him.
I was going to surprise him with a trip away, but we too are going away with the kids shortly before our anniversary.
Ha, that sounds lovely. Too bad we are a 9 hour flight from the rest of the wedding party. That would be so fun to go back to the restaurant where we had our rehearsal dinner!

I wanted our rehearsal dinner place, but its booked. Good luck figuring something out!

Oh boo. Hmmm.....what are his hobbies? Would he wear a watch?

Hobbies- work and golf (well, it used to be until we moved). Now its just work. Watches- he has two nice watches that he wears. Hhhhmmm, maybe this could work with the tin/aluminum thing.
The traditional gift for 10 years is tin/aluminum. What about a new golf club and a gift certificate for a near by course or driving range?
Hhhhmmm, I'm always hesitant to pick out new clubs for him, but I could do an IOU for one. The golf course is a bit tougher.....all require a car to get to and we don't have a car here. But definitely something to ponder.
