Tell him gently and nicely if you think it might hurt his feelings.
One of the first times I met H he was wearing a cargo shirt, basketball shorts and socks with sandals. He has no fashion sense at all and he's color blind so I help him out. When we'd been dating for 2 months I took him shopping (at his request) and I've been taking him shopping ever since.
How did you stop yourself from saying something immediately upon seeing those? I would not have been able to contain myself.
ETA: I'm 0% fashionable. I wear some ridiculous shit around the house.. but those? LOL. I would rag MH FOR_EV_ER.
I actually kind of did - he was going into the garage and I followed him saying "ummm honey?", but he was focused on programming the sprinklers so I decided to wait until he wasn't in the middle of something. He was a good sport
Oh this is not about taking away his freedom to wear what he likes. He has no fashion sense. My H would appreciate me for not letting him walk around looking like a clown.
I dissent. My H is a grown man and he gets to choose (or design, in this case) his own clothes. How he looks isn't a reflection on me, so it wouldn't matter if I thought it looked bad. I'd let him KOKO.
Well you're a better woman than I because I would not be seen in public with my H wearing those. If that makes me shallow then I am proudly shallow LOL

It could have been worse.
My DH usually dresses nicely but there have been some not good choices. I am a bitch I just laugh and crack jokes until he changes. Luckily, he doesn't take it personally and he changes.

Oh my, that picture made me lol! Too funny! I also had to laugh at "ragamuffin". I tell my daughter she looks like a ragamuffin. The other day and I said "go brush your hair, you look like a..." and she said "I know, I know, I look like a ragamuffin!"
