H and I have a long weekend getaway coming up. Looking for recommendations on places to eat and stuff to do. We probably only want to do one real excursion (I am interested in checking out Joshua Tree and/or the San Jacinto mountains and maybe hiking, depending on how hot it is).
Right now we have dinner reservations at Trio, Spencer's and Le Vallauris but I'm open to suggestions. (@misoangry?)
I love brunch at Cheeky's, but there is usually quite a long wait. Right next door, though, is Jake's, which is also excellent for brunch. They're both on the same street at Trio, which I also like. You've made a good choice.
A few doors down from Trio is the Shag store. It is so dangerous to my wallet. I've bought four pieces of art there. And across the street-ish is a great modern decor store called Raymond Lawrence, where I bought a circular green grassy-like rug and giant pink and orange pillow for my kid's room. Nice street for strolling.

I love Palm Springs! I'm not much of s foodie so can't help with restaurant recs but we did a 20 mile (95% downhill) bike ride through a canyon on the San Andreas (sp?) fault line that was awesome. I found the company on the things to do page of Trip Advisor. Have fun!

Take the aerial tram up the mountain and hike up there! The weather should be much nicer on the mountain than down in Palm Springs. It's still a bit too hot to do anything fun in Joshua Tree, in my opinion.
I second the aerial team up the mountain. It was great. Also there was a 20 degree difference in weather from the bottom to the top, so bring a sweater. We were freezing!

I just went hiking on Mt San Jacinto today. We rode the tram to the top and hiked one of the trails. The weather up there was perfect-high 60s (90s at the base of the mountain).
We just got home from Palm Springs Thursday. Our favorite meal of our trip was at Workshop Kitchen + Bar. It was also our most expensive, but was totally worth it. We went to Trio. It was fine, but could have been better. Their specialty drink with ginger vodka was awesome! Not sure where you're staying, but the Orbit In was fabulous!
