I am going in at 6 this evening to be induced. When I thought this whole labor thing was going to start naturally, I felt all powered up and ready to go. But with an official start time, I'm scared. Like, totally terrified. There's so much uncharted territory: overnight hospital stay, wondering how long it will last, the whole getting her out thing. I know it will be fine, but I just want it to be done already.
Everyone in the house is asleep and I just needed to put this somewhere.

Hugs! I was induced with my daughter, it's not ideal since it's not the "normal" way to start having a baby, but it will all go well and soon you will be holding that baby. Try and rest. Tonight at the hospital you probably won't rest much at all and you will need that energy to push the baby out. Lots of good thoughts that it all goes well and fast!
I was induced with DS1 and it was way more boring than scary! It was totally fine though, in the end I liked being induced so much that I scheduled one for DS2 (he had other plans though). Just bring lots of stuff to entertain yourself with.
So much this. The boredom of sitting around and staying occupied was way worse than the actual process. I read 2 books waiting for DS. With both DDs I got caught up on tons of TV shows I'd never seen. It's all so routine and methodical to the hospital that it's not even scary.
I've had 3 inductions. The first wasn't easy (for other reasons they couldn't start my labor with the typical induction drugs), the second went great until pushing (She didn't want out, no problem with the induction) and the 3rd was a complete breeze.
Just get the drugs as soon as you think you need them and all will be well.

This is so good to know. It is nice to know there will be an end and I won't just be pregnant forever.
Thanks for all of the well-wishes! It is helping tons.
Good luck today! There are so many unknowns with labor but the end is all worth it when you'll be holding that sweet baby girl. I wish you the best of luck with your induction and hope the whole process is easy (as it can be) and short!

Good luck! I had an induction this time last year and I was so nervous. All went well and none of the crazy stuff I feared took place. Now my dd is turning one and the whole delivery is really a blur. Can't wait for the update.

I was in your place about 18 days ago. Now I'm rocking my little man. Just know the baby WILL come out. It might take a little bit but they don't stay in forever lol

You can do it!!!!
That's my mantra - this baby will be born. We'll see if it helps through contractions. I only had one ultrasound my whole pregnancy but tonight, they checked to make sure she's still head down. Her eyes blinked on the screen and that was the best thing I have ever seen.

Get an epidural lol I tried to make it without one. It was pure heaven once I got one. for me the contractions didn't get horrible until after my water broke. Once I was holding my little boy I forgot all about the labor.

Agree about the epidural. Induction drugs can amplify the contractions. Don't be shy!
