Comedy Central skewers Redskins name controversy with South Park commercial
Comedy Central teased the 18th season of South Park, which premieres Wednesday, with a one-minute commercial during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s Redskins-Eagles game. The spot parodied the Redskins name controversy, of course, with Daniel Snyder, Robert Griffin III and Jay Gruden demanding that “Mr. Cartman” stop referring to his company as The Washington Redskins.
“When I named my company Washington Redskins, it was out of deep appreciation for your team and your people,” Cartman said.
We loved it. Dh and I had been trying to guess what their first episode would be about last weekend, dh guessed ISIS and I figured the elevator thing would be in there somewhere, so we were both sort of right lol.
