I feel kind of silly but this is somewhat MM related.
One of my favorite movies growing up was "Newsies". As in, my brother, sister, and I watched it so much we wore out our VHS tape, and still to this day know all song lyrics by heart.
Once I heard that they were up for a Tony Best Musical nominee, DH knows my heart has been set on seeing this show. They aren't coming to my city, but a city 2.5 hours away. I found out they were having pre-sale tix, and I purchased them. However, they are in the back of the Orchestra section, but center (Row U). The lady at the Hall said they were good seats as starting in Row J, each row has a step up (meaning, we will have a good view despite being towards the back of the audience).
AmEx just opened up presale tix and they have 2 seats in the center area, Orchestra level, Row L. Approx same price. However, b/c these are sold through Ticketmaster, I cannot "give back" my tickets to the Hall. Thus, if I want the TM tickets, I will need to pay for those and then potentially sell the Row U seats.
The Hall rep says it has been selling well, as the majority of the seats will be sold out by the time the tickets actually go on sale.
Thus, should I purchase the Ticketmaster tickets and try to sell the Hall tickets?
I don't think it's worth the hassle. The difference between row L and row U should not be that significant, especially since you're row U center.
I agree with this - both seats are in the center of the orchestra section, so there won't be that much difference. We're talking row 12 vs. row 21 in what is probably a fairly large hall. If your current seats were in the third balcony or way off to one side or something, then I would say it might be worth it. As it is, I wouldn't bother. You'll still be able to see well.
Being a bit further up will benefit you - the set is almost all vertical and most of the action happens high - so you'll get a bigger picture of what's happening. When I saw Newsies, I was in the balcony area and the seats were much preferable to orchestra. It's an AWESOME show, I love Newsies!!!
