I know a girl through MIL who is 17 weeks pregnant. She has been posting a bunch of photos of her belly, gender reveal, ultrasounds, etc. She and her husband are in Europe right now, and she has posted 2 photos of herself drinking beer. I texted MIL to ask if she miscarried, because I was surprised to see that she was publicly admitting to drinking while pregnant. I am fine with pregnant women having alcohol in small amounts (if I had been pregnant, I probably would have drank a few sips of wine every now and then), but I don't think I would post photos on social media. I'm just wondering what the board's general consensus is on the subject. I don't mean to be super judgmental, but I was just surprised. Attachment Deleted

I didn't drink while pregnant, but not necessarily because I was pregnant, but just because I don't drink. I wouldn't post pictures, because I don't have the energy for the response I'd have to deal with.

I never drank during my pregnancies, but I'm not much of an alcohol fan in the first place. I wouldn't post a picture because I wouldn't want to deal with the responses.

I never drank during pregnancy. I don't think having a beer on a vacation with your man while pregnant is the end all be all...but I wouldn't post a picture hell no lol. I bought a latte from Starbucks and the barista judged the hell out of me saying, omg (when my belly was visible past the counter) do you really think you should be drinking espresso?! If my doctor says it's cool...it's cool. I've eaten sushi and lunch meat and drank lattes, ppl judge but I just try to ignore.
I had a glass of wine occasionally and stole sips frequently last time and will probably do the same this time.
I wouldn't post the pictures because a) I rarely post pictures, b) I try never to post pics with alcohol because my teetotaler family are all on FB, and c) inner lawyer wouldn't want that out there in case something went wrong with pregnancy (contributory negligence?).
ETA I don't think drinking moderately while pregnant has any effect, but my mind goes to "what would a judgey jury think if I brought a malpractice suit?"

I took a couple sips of wine during my second pregnancy, but other than that, I didn't drink. And you definitely wouldn't see me posting pictures to FB.
Nope. I personally would be ok with a sip here or there, but my H gets nervous when I drink caffeine, so .... Plus I never post pics on fb, so people would probably think I'd gone crazy.

I am admittedly fairly laid back about drinking while pg (well, compared to most of alarmist US). A couple of oz of wine or half a beer very couple of weeks is nbd to me.
No way would I publicize any of that in an online pic. Nope.
No way. I don't drink while pregnant but don't judge those who steal sips. I have enough issues that if something were to happen, I'd just blame myself that much more. If I did take sips, I would absolutely not post pics on fb. Too many ppl, too much judging, and they have no way of knowing if you are just sipping, or are slamming beers.

Ditto this. Especially the 2nd time around.
Also, DesertMoon, if some barista had the nerve to say something to me about caffeine, they would have had their head ripped off. This is my rage pregnancy after all.

I would never drink wine while pregnant, but it is a personal choice. I know there is research out there that suggests wine in small amounts is okay. However, I would post pictures of me eating sushi (and not the cooked variety, either) on FB if an occasion came up.

I am pretty breezy about drinking while pregnant, also while nursing. (I would never post pics on fb, bc I hate being judged).
A couple of weeks ago we went out to lunch, and I ordered a beer, about two sips in A woke up and needed to nurse. I nursed her at the table, with my beer sitting right in front of me. I was a bit worried people would notice! Didn't someone get arrested for that in the news recently?

I love my beer and wine, but only had a few sips here and there while pregnant.
I don't post pictures of myself places pregnant or not as a habit, and I definitely wouldn't want to deal with the backlash on FB or IG.
One of my friends, while visibly pregnant, was holding her husbands wine while he used the restroom at an art show. She said it was like the the whole place came to a screeching halt and stared at her with judgy eyes. It was ridiculous!

I drink the off glass of wine here & there but would never post a pic on social media.
We were at a festival this past weekend and H asked me to hold his beer. It was 11am and I'm 7 months pregnant and I felt totally weird just standing there holding a beer!!
I had no problem drinking moderately while pregnant, but I wouldn't feel like opening myself up to nasty comments, so, no, I wouldn't post it. Not because I think it's wrong to drink, but because people are judgy mcnjudgersons who judge
I would approach it the same way I approach it when I'm not pregnant. I don't really take "hey look at me, I'm drinking!" photos - sometimes I'll post a pic of wine if I'm out to dinner, but even that is rare. If someone takes a pic while I'm pregnant and I happen to have a glass of wine in front of me, I'm not going to censor it out just because of the wine. But I probably won't post a lot of pregnant kegstand photos.
