I got a cute long white flowy skirt that is perfect for Egypt....I wore it yesterday....
Here's some questions.
The main reason I hate wearing skirts/dresses is because my thighs touch each other....and yesterday it was super hot....so my thighs are touching and getting all sweaty. That is just uncomfortable....I usually try to wear shorts under my dresses/skirts because of this. Because I have no other solution. This particular skirt is pretty seethrough though, so I would need either white shorts or nude or something. Do you have a solution to this problem? Or do you just wear skirts with your thighs touching and let them get sweaty? How do you deal? .........I know we have talked about thighs touching and chafing on this board before, so I know I am not the only one!
Question #2. When you are wearing a long skirt, ankle length, how do you go to the bathroom? Do you pull your skirt down and sit to pee? or do you pull your skirt up and hold it around you? I realized yesterday that I felt it was too big and long to pull up behind me...but then when I pulled it down, it was all over the floor....and I had to go in a public bathroom.....What the hell do you do?
I love wearing dresses all of the time. It's so easy to just pull it on and go. You don't have to worry about matching a top and bottom.
I would just wear the shorts underneath. Or you can buy some Body Glide (anti-chafing stick).
As for the bathroom I usually just pull up the dress, but I don't like wearing super long dressed. I would just hike it up as far as possible and hold onto it while you pee, I would not want my dress touching the bathroom floor...ewwww!
1. thigh toucher here! i would just wear shorts. i haven't started doing this religiously yet, but really need to..i just cup up an old pair of leggings (bc where in the hell do you buy spandex shorts these days? that aren't a bazillion dollars cause they're workout gear??!).
2. i would pull it up, definitely. i usually pull it all up, bunch it together, then swing it around to the front so i can keep an eye on it

lol, that's still more than i want to spend on something that won't even be seen! i wear my cut up leggings, and also an OLD pair of shorts i used to wear in 6th grade back when they were cool. wait...were they *ever* cool? i used to wear them with a tshirt and go to school like that. they probably weren't ever cool, huh.
I definitely have a thigh-touching issue. It gets really bad and will chafe something awful I'll probably get flamed for this, but I get the super cheap bike shorts in white and black at walmart. I think I pay $7-8/pair, and they actually last a long time.
1. I buy this, its usually cheaper than the brands marketed for runners. I also have something like this I bought at FM for trying on wedding dresses because it was so much cheaper than Spanx (although I wish I'd upgraded for Spanx for the wedding) and just wear it as underwear. I have tried on Spanx since, and these fit much roomier and without so much compression, so they're more comfortable and cooler.
2. I either do like Jennlin said (pull up above my waist, gather in front and hold), or bunch it up from the bottom and hold around my knees essentially when pulling down. Hard to explain What I do generally depends on how forgiving the fabric is for creating wrinkles.
W wears bike shorts with skirts when it's warm. I don't know if they make white bike shorts but maybe you can find Tennis whites that would do the trick?
Also, Amazon.co.uk probably delivers to egypt, if there's stuff you can't find locally but really need (since I'm sure shipping will be expensive!).
another option - I know they sell slips that are like shorts. basically imagine a slip, but then turn it into two legs. so it might be more comfortable that tight shorts, especially on a hot day AND would be great when you would need to wear a slip anyway!
At K&G, they had some $10 "body slimmers" that I got two sizes two big (so they wouldn't be as tight They are silky lingerie material with lacey edges, but tight like bike shorts.
I hike up to pee...wrap around the waist on the other side if it's too long
I don't have an answer for your first question.. I wear skirts pretty much all the time and never wear anything so yup my thighs touch/get all sticky/sweaty.
