There was a note on B's sheet that he had three servings of lunch. He wouldn't even leave the classroom until he ate all the Puffs from his 5 pm snack. He ate immediately upon getting home - chicken plus beans plus corn followed by like 30 blueberries but still downed his milk like it was his job. WHY IS MY CHILD SO HUNGRY?
DD took a third nap tonight from 7 - 7:30 pm. I was like "This is when GBCN babies have bedtime and you decide to nap instead?" :?
She took 2 super short naps earlier. I read in some sleep book "if you hear your baby stir during a nap, don't go in and get her. She will fall back asleep and this is how you get them to nap longer. Well for DD, anytime I hear her stir, 5 minutes later she has crawled up to the window in her crib and is intensely staring waiting for someone to notice and retrieve her before she yells if no one comes.
All this means we will not be having bedtime for at least another hour. She is currently chewing the wire from my keyboard.

My husband won't shut up. Running commentary about crap over here: "before i die, i hope they develop a variety of extra brown cheezits called 'brown edges' "
C napped from 8-10am. Aside from that, he has only napped in 10 minute increments. I have had him in a carrier for most of the evening dancing around the house so much that my hips hurt. Seriously child, you are 6 weeks old. You need your sleep!
DS was freaking adorable at BF group today. I let him look around for a while and he made eyes at the other women. Then I put him on the boob and he started giggling and cooing. Lord help me if he carries this flirtatiousness into his teen years.
Also there were at least 8 of us there and everyone had a boy. It's boyapalooza in my area apparently.
@notquiteblushing growth spurt? Bas has HUNGRY days and days when he hardly eats at all. Ok, maybe not the second one.
Maybe? He seems SO tall lately. We just had his doctor's appointment but she thinks they measured his height wrong. He used to be OBSESSED with bananas and now he doesn't like them so I guess he needs to make up all that protein somehow. He can eat half a chicken breast by himself and still drink milk afterwards.

Yowser, do you swaddle? Six weeks was SO hard. My H would swaddle him and hold him while he screamed and eventually he would submit. Hang in there.
nqb my dd2 has been out eating her big sis lately, which is impressive as dd1 already out eats me. I think we definitely have a growth spurt going on here.
DH is having a vasectomy in the morning. even though I am DONE with having kids, I can't help but feel a little wistful that that part of our life is over. Then, I remember the hell of pregnancy and having a newborn and feel okay again. This weekend is going to suck though. He is such a wuss and I'm sure he's going to play his 'get out of helping' card for three solid days.
I don't normally eat after dinner but now that I have to fast until tomorrow morning all I can think about is how starving I am. I think I am just anticipating how hungry I'm going to be in the morning but it's killing me.
I HATE when The League does these f-ing Rafi/Seth Rogen episodes! This isn't the show I like watching! Do a spinoff if these are really that popular (which I find hard to believe).
In kid-clothing-obsessed news, I scored a really hard to get Christmas dress for DD tonight. Very pleased
Because the moms that are obsessed with this brand are nuts, I will be able to sell it after she wears it for more than I paid for it. Ridiculous but works for me!
The milk/juice thread from today prompted me to ask dd1 what everyone drinks at school with their lunches (everyone packs, it's 3k). She could specifically name what every kid in her class drinks. "Avery C drinks a juicebox with a strawberry on it, Grace has lemonade...." My poor deprived child who loves juice more than anything in the world. I'm surprised she hasn't stolen someone elses and run. lol.
Dd2 has pink eye. The corner of my one eye has felt irritated all evening. I'm sure I'm getting it because our household can't keep pink eye contained to one person, we like to share the germs and no amount of hand washing can stop them.
I need to talk about VB some more. Is that real? Can kids even identify shapes at 16mos? When are they supposed to be able to do that?
Your kid probably does things you don't know about.
I always find out DD can do stuff accidentally. Like, one time my friends SWORE that DD spelled nice (the letters were on the tv, super why was on). I thought she was full of shit. Nope, DD had somehow managed to learn her letters. Thanks Sesame Street and Super Why!
I found out she could identify shapes while we were getting frozen yogurt and she kept pointing to the circles and squares on the walls there. I started asking her and she could identify all the common shapes. Maybe she learned it at school? I'm guessing tv, though.
And I SAH with her so she's only in preschool twice a week. I certainly don't work with her on, well, anything. Your kid probably learns WAY more than mine since daycare probably doesn't spend most of their time cleaning their house.
