Pacifier weaning is going ok here. Apparently she was begging grandma all day for may-may (she took her to the zoo), but she didn't ask much at all from us. And she was fighting bedtime (MORE BOOKS!) but when I said she could have her may may in the crib she went right in without a peep, lol. Trying her out in gym daycare tomorrow without a pacifier should be interesting...
We took m's "paci" away on Tuesday. We had two days of him pathetically asking for it. almost caved but today he didn't say a word. Had no problem sleeping just was a little sad. Made me think maybe I needed it more then him :-)
We tried to go to DH's game. We went to the homecoming tailgate (which wasn't anything special and DH wasn't even there for) and then it starred raining so we had to come home. I'm secretly glad because I'm not in the mood to be around tons of people/I just wdnt to relax in my pjs.
Totally stalking you to ask how your H's game went?
@starry: the LOVE show in Vegas is amazeballs!
I woke up with insomnia at 4:45am today. I'm on my this glass of wine and about to take a bath, with another glass of wine. Do you think a kindle will electrocute me if I drop it in the tub?
My dad has a big game tomorrow. My plan is to nervous-clean the baseboards while streaming it live.
I need to vent. DS has had a small patch of eczema on the back of his knees for his whole life. Two weeks ago we finished a 2 week course of low dose steroid cream to knock it out. Immediately following that it exploded. It's all over his legs, his bottom, his groin. It's reaching up his back and stomach. Tonight he showed me 2 new patches on the insides of his elbows. It looks like someone burned his skin in several places. There is no healthy skin on him from the waist down.
We took him to the pediatrician on Wednesday. She took one look at him and immediately called a dermatologist to get him seen. The dermatologist prescribed an even stronger steroid. We are using that twice a day, smothering him in aquaphor, giving him benadryl every 6 hours, and yet it is still spreading. I'm terrified it is going to reach his face. I feel so bad for him because he is in pain and itching. I cried a lot after I put him to bed tonight :-(.
I got a samsung galaxy today after using my iPhone for years. I hate it!!
Other things I'm regretting is the hair dye from a box on my head right now, dear lord please turn out ok.
Haha. I just got an iPhone 6 today. Love it so far!
DD refused to go to bed until 9:30. I have no idea what the heck is going on. I put Bones on TV and put her on my stomach and eventually she fell asleep. I miss my good sleeper.
Paint is on the nursery walls! It was primer/paint in one and supposed to only take one coat. 3 of the 4 walls look good half-way dry. The other wall is going to need touched up. The sun was coming in weird and I kind missed a few spots.
I will be back in the habit of "real" MOTN threads in a few weeks. zarapipe and I can entertain you all with newborn stories of no sleep.
I'm in sleep hell right now. Ds was/is still being swaddled but he can roll over now so it isn't safe. Putting him down without his arms swaddles just makes him scream and scream. I tried to let him cry and he puked in his bed. I don't know what to do.
C just went down. I swaddled him with his hands near his face since that is how he prefers it. If it gives me 2+ hours of sleep, I'll be happy. I'll be back to report.
there is a conversation on a cloth diaper fb group about timing sex in favour of conceiving a girl and it's... wildly inaccurate on the medical front. "I conceived my daughter 4 days before I ovulated!" umm.... no you didn't.
Newborn mom checking in as promised. I did not get use out of the condoms last night after all. Soon, hopefully.
I felt really weird throwing a box of condoms into the cart next to the baby carrier. Also, the variety of condoms available is overwhelming! I ended up getting a multi-pack because I couldn't decide between ultra-thin and ecstasy! Lol
Ugh, when DD was a newborn she often woke up for 1.5-2hr stretches MOTN. It was so hard! She got much better around 6-8w, and now at almost 4mo her wake-ups are 15-ish min or however long it takes her to finish eating.

Hang in there!
Thanks. Luckily M doesn't do this often. He nursed for like 10-12 minutes and then fell asleep, and I'm loathe to wake a sleeping baby. But he woke up like 15 minutes later. I don't know if he was still hungry, but feeding him was the only thing that shut him up. Thank goodness he just gave me a 2.5 hour stretch.
MIL is coming to visit today, and I'm considering handing her the baby and taking a nap.
The neighbors have started construction again. At 6:45 AM. On a Saturday. I am LIVID.
DS is back to waking up a ton during the night. I'm never getting a good night of sleep again, am I? He's never STTN, not even close. I know I need to get him on a schedule but trying to do that is at odds with my goal of getting out of the house everyday for my own sanity. Uggghhh.
bowies It's so so hard at that age. I very much craved a schedule as well, but found (as most everyone else on this board did too lol) that I was happier if I changed my expectation from a schedule to a routine. I did use EASY from a very early age and this blog post with the sample was infinitely helpful:
DD never woke up, ate, napped at exactly the same time (schedule) until much later - maybe 7 months when we moved to 2-3-4. But having this routine each day was very helpful!
What are these 1.5-hour naps she's referencing? I am lucky if I can get a single nap >1 hour out of him!
ETA: Aaand M just slept for two hours. Lol
Let me try this again. MY BABY NEVER SLEEPS. NEVER EVER

I read the Baby Whisperer book and thought it was interesting.
DS was very routine in his eating and sleep habits anyway though and was on the 3 hrs cycle since 3 weeks old. He was also formula fed which reinforces the routine.
