DS used to wakeup and be fine to roll around on his own, talking to himself for 10-15min while I wake up enough to go get him. Sometime in the last week, he realized I can hear him from his room so now as soon as he wakes up he just shouts "Mom! Mom! Mama!" over and over until I come get him. At least he still doesn't get out of bed?
DS started doing this too. It made so crabby to wake up to him screaming my name. I started saying through the baby monitor "I hear you DS. Please play with your cat (his lovey), I'll be there in a minute." And he'll wait 5-10 mins for me to get up and pee before yelling for me again.

H leaves at noon for 3 days away and I am hosting a few friends tonight after DD goes to bed. And of course the jackhammer was busted out this morning so the chances my house will be company ready are slim
DD finally finished frozen this morning (we've been watching 10-15 mins/night for the last week or so)! I think she liked it.
PSA: Old Navy tamis are on for $4. I stocked up yesterday!
We are supposed to go to a baby dedication today. According to the host, we need to bring a chair, a potluck meal item for 20-25, a memento for her child's memory box, and school supply donations to be sent to a school in Jamaica. All of that is making me not want to go. It sounds like so much work!
This is crazy cakes. I would not want to do all that either.

And drinks! We also have to bring our own drinks!
L just woke up from a 2.5 hour nap. That's a longer stretch than he typically does at night. Why is my kid nocturnal?
It did give me time to shower/make up/ hair, do dishes, and go through all his clothes. I started packing up his 3-6 and removed tags from/ started washing his 6-9/12. My baby is getting so big!

I got DS more wooden train tracks at consignment on Wednesday. He's been begging to play with them since. I opened them today and put together a giant track circuit, with bridges and everything. He played for 5 minutes then wanted to go play with his Melissa and Doug felt pizza kit.

this will be DS's 5th Christmas and i'm so over trying to find dress clothes for him. its like the SAME EVERY YEAR! i have merch credit for J&J and went this morning but they didnt have holiday stuff out, (will be out monday) but i look online and its BORING! has anyone seen green holiday boys shirts?
AND it bothers me that i can only use J&J credit there and not Gymboree or Crazy 8. i LOVE that ON, GAP & BR does that!

I have strep throat. WHO GETS STREP at 30 years old, in the fall? Ugh.
We went to dinner a couple nights ago with some friends. DD was so good. Even though we kept her out past her bedtime. She was all giggly and kept blowing kisses to people. ♡ We are lucky.
I'm feeling sorry for myself and I need to snap out of it. First this pregnant I was doing the whole-day MS thing, then I got Fifth's Disease which isn't a big deal but it's a risk to the baby and the body aches are no joke when you can't take strong painkillers, then I was diagnosed with placenta praevia (which finally resolved itself), and now I have GD. The GD shouldn't be a big deal but I had zero risk factors and one of the nurses was implying I gave it to myself by drinking too much juice (after I explained I don't drink juice).
I just want to be able to enjoy the last two months of this pregnancy. Oh and DH is acting petulant (as usual) that I don't want sex or to be pawed 100% of the time we are together. He is leaving for a wedding next weekend and I couldn't be more excited.

I bet it's more company ready than mine!
Ironically, you're the one I'm most anxious about since you've never seen it...but you're also the one who probably understands the best...
DD's nap was less than an hour and she needs to stay up until 8 tonight for a block party. This does not bode well.
Related, can DH and I put her to bed and then go outside in our culdesac? The monitor only reaches in our driveway. We would go back to the driveway every now and then to check the monitor. She goes down at 7pm and we don't hear from her until 7am basically 100% of the time, if that matters.
Video monitor or audio? This is why we have a cheap audio one that goes further than our video - we can take it up onto the roof. I think I'd be anxious to not have constant monitoring if I weren't in the house...and DD sleeps the same way as yours. But it's totally subjective - if you feel fine with it, it's fine.

DS scored 6 goals at soccer today. He is getting really good. It is pouring and I am driving 80 miles to ikea to get favors for DS' birthday party next week.
Birthday party went well! Kind of chaotic with 9 kids running around but whatever. C had fun and was all about pizza and blowing out his candles, although he kept referring to his Mickey cupcakes as pandas. Tons of pics on IG.
We are having new friends over soon that have a daughter Bs age. The house is spotless so they better not cancel. I even bought organic animal crackers.
Just came home from a 3-year old birthday party. It was very Pinteresty and elaborate. I will not be able to keep up with some of my mom friends. Lol. But it was fun! And both kids were good.
We move next week and our new build isn't ready. Life is about to get very complicated. Eta - a lot of people brought kids with bad colds to the party. That didnt impress me. Stay home!

Ummm, don't. My current view is unfinished subfloor, boarded over fireplace, a dining room FULL of flooring in boxes, a kitchen cobbled together and recessed lighting without any trim.

Do you have iPhones? There is a free app that acts as a baby monitor if you leave one of your phones in her room and have another with you. I'm not sure how far it goes though.....you could also leave one phone in her room, and call the other phone, so you can hear if she wakes up. You would obviously want to leave the phone you have with you on mute.

We got the treadmill moved into our newly finished garage. DH did all the lifting, but I came up with the idea of taking the big screen off so it would fit through the door. Yay team! DH has decided that it's time for a new front door. This is my anniversary gift, since 5th anniversary is wood. Except it turns out we can't really get a wood front door because our entry faces south. So happy fiberglass anniversary to us! Haha.
