So we went a little nuts with the apple picking

It was one of those moments where we got up to the checkout to weigh our bags, and I gave this 14 year old kid at the register a look that said "How much??!!"

But it was good times. I've got so many freaking apples that we left half with my parents and I still have a ton at my house anyway. I'm making pie this weekend!!

Curious how much per pound? I did this once with strawberries. We actually didnt get that many but the cost per pound was insane.

We picked about 40 pounds today--but that was partly because I was making 5 pies this afternoon. Now that the pies are done, we still have a ton left.

It's amazing how quickly you can get that many.

I have a cookbook that's just apple pies. I love it, but I wish I were more adventurous.

The best part about this crust is that it can be made in the  food processor, so it's ridiculously easy.

Word. A friend of mine hates making crust but is cool with apple peeling. I'm the opposite. Together we make amazing pie.
