At what age do we need to be more mindful of having the TV on? I'm pretty sure DS is watching Sunday NFL Countdown.
I've wondered the same thing. Last month's power bill was a record high for us, I'm sure in no small part due to the TV being on all day!
My baby started being interested at about 3 months. At five months he will turn clear around to watch it. We only have it on for the evening news and he is so captivated. We do a lot of redirecting and blocking.
After 2 weeks of terrible sleep, DS slept until 5 (yay!). I brought him back to bed and he slept until 6:30a (he normally doesn't like to sleep with us). Then MH got up with him and I went back to sleep!!!
DS was about to lose his mind at the grocery store when the man at the deli gave him a couple of slices of cheese. I was able to get the rest of the shopping done. I stopped at the local coffee shop to get coffee for MH & tea for me. It was so good!!

I dvr'ed Dumbo when it was on abc family the other day. I haven't seen since i was little. I'm watching it and omg its so sad. I'm sitting here crying. Lol. Pathetic.
On a positive note i made an Apple pie. It's 80+degrees here today, which is crazy for Massachusetts. Were having a bbq to enjoy this late summer tonight.
DS was a beast this morning, fighting nap. His 3rd tooth finally cut through and here's a 4th starting to as well. His pre-op paperwork for tubes says he can't have Motrin for two weeks leading up to his surgery and Tylenol just doesn't quite do it at the moment. Poor guy.
DS and I are going to lunch with my mom to celebrate my birthday. My mom and I are... not close, to say the least, so I'm not looking forward to it. She also is not great with DS, but somehow thinks she's 'Worldz Best Nana' if she sits in the same room as him once every few months.
Heading to gymnastics class in a bit, then I think we will have a mommy daughter lunch at panera. Planning to grocery shop after nap (fingers crossed she actually naps today!) and dinner at my parents'.
I met humpforfree yesterday! She brought amazing desserts. Best kind of company.
Well, chickens987 let me steal her clothes. I say I came out ahead. Lol.

My dad just made a Facebook account to see pictures of the baby and he's poked me approximately 50 times since Friday. He has no idea WTF he's doing. It's amusing.
On a positive note, B slept from 1030-245 last night. H fed her at 245 and she went back down until 5. My boobs were full when I got her at 5 but not so bad. I needed the sleep. I've been pumping after her early morning feed and getting between 3-6 oz for my H to feed her at one point in the night. The solid stretch of sleep has made a world of difference in my mood. Things are looking up!

Old people on FB are so funny. My mom punctuates stuff like this: "Can 't put him down. !!!" (Comment on a picture of her and M)
I'm still in the "wow, am I hemorrhaging to death?" stage of this period. #blessed
OMG, I hate that stage.
I am on the train and the guy who works in the accessibility car ( where you have to go if you have a stroller) is SUPER chatty. Dude, I just want to be left alone so I can play on my phone while my kid sleeps.
We're on the plane back from Vegas. We made it until 1am before heading back to the hotel to go to bed. Longer than I thought we'd make it. The bride and groom posted to FB when we left for the airport at 7:30; they had been awake all night.
By far the biggest partiers were the groom's parents. SUPER AWKWARD.

I have gotten sucked into CD b/s/t boards on FB. I am also an impulse buyer. I have spent many dollars (not MM) and need to find a way to block the posts from appearing in my news feed so I'm not tempted to buy all the fitteds.

My parents left this morning and we just got back from the zoo. I'm exhausted as I'm not sleeping well at night. I'm about to nap; DH is handling lunch and putting H down for nap. The crest of the day should be wonderful and lazy. The weather is perfect napping weather!!
At what age do we need to be more mindful of having the TV on? I'm pretty sure DS is watching Sunday NFL Countdown.
DH has the TV on sports pretty much every night and all weekend. On the other hand, I very rarely ever turn the TV on. I feel like it balances out but DS is definitely drawn to the TV/phone/screen any time it's on. The "no screen time before two" in me cringes but I also feel like it's 2014, screens aren't going anywhere, and we don't live in a screenless vacuum.
I am pregnant and it is still hard for me to remember to take them. I am going to set two alarms on my phone.
And I hate that I can't have dairy for an hour after the morning pill. So many breakfast foods have dairy in them.
I have never heard this before! Hmmm
The dairy part? It depends on what kind of pill you take. I take Pregvit - an AM pill and a PM pill. The AM pill is supposed to be taken on an empty stomach, or barring that, no dairy as it interferes with the absorption of something (iron?)…the Folic Acid is in the AM pill…PM pill has calcium, I think, which should be taken separately from Iron? And green tea interferes with Folic Acid absorption too so I avoid that? This shit is confusing.

I just take a One a Day prenatal and the associated DHA supplement... ugh maybe it ISN'T ENOUGH.
BTW I took it today after I posted. So the streak starts at 1…
I am sure it is fine! Most people I know here get PregVit because it is prescription and then covered through our extended health care. It does have like 5mg of Folic Acide though.
Set an alarm on your phone and you won't ever forget again!
Sometimes I get really sad about my body post 4 kids. I really never liked much about it (I have terrible skin, hair, nails, thick legs, not ever thin, etc) but I had a really nice, flat defined stomach....it is so trashed now. I know it's stupid & vain but I'm still in mourning years later (irreparable damage obvious after DD3). Why did the one thing I liked have to take the brunt of child birthing? Figures, that is my luck.
We got a TON of stuff done around the house today, go us!
I: made fancy breakfast, cleaned up dishes, unpacked everything from our trip, put away 2 huuuuge loads of laundry, finished hanging DS's baby blankets on the rack in his room. Made lunch & cleaned up dishes.
DH: hung all the rest of our paintings/pictures, installed the hearth gate around the wood stove, hung the last piece of art in DS's room, cleaned out the coat closet and put the shoe rack in there, took coats to dry cleaners. And he actually CLEANED UP all the parts and tools from installing everything!
weird encounter at the neighborhood party yesterday: I was asked how much my child weighed by the mother of a 15 month old. when I said 23 pounds, she was all "OH NO HE IS ALREADY 27 POUNDS! I WORRY ABOUT HIM SO MUCH!" Later her husband told me that mom in question is a dietitian and frets over every bite in the child's mouth and is obsessed with him not being overweight. Later she told me DD was lucky and would appreciate being small later on.
I was fairly whut about the situation but I did feel a little bad for her adorable cherub. Allowed?
That makes me sad. I have two kids 18 months apart that eat the same thing. One is nearly off the charts and the other is at 40% for weight and always has been. THEY EAT THE SAME THING. Gah. That poor little guy.
DH and I drank too much last night. This post pregnancy/nursing stage is an adjustment, I have zero tolerance, friends. We made it to mass and then we had a birthday party at chuck e cheese, first time we've had to take the kids, and they lost their minds. It's like a cruel cliche of a day.
I also ran into OUAC since that place is not set up for a double stroller and it's conveniently near the chuck e cheese. DH stayed in the car with the kids. And a Gatorade lol. I admire you guys that can handle the secondhand shops regularly. I'm trying to track down formalwear for SIL's wedding next month and I found some stuff but it was a soul sucking experience.

Argh such a frustrating trip to Costco. I was talking up "pizza and juice" to DS the whole way through because he and I generally share a slice and lemonade after we shop (without DH). DH waits until we are almost at the front of the food line to announce that he doesn't want to eat there and we'll just take the pizza home. WTF, dude, because our kid is so awesome with unexpected changes to his routine. Cue the enormous out-of-control tantrum that lasts nearly an hour and a DH confused and annoyed that our son is being so unreasonable. Sigh. The triggers, DH. Learn them.

Things are not going well in our household today.
H went to to fix the banister and ended up putting a huge hole in the wall. Now it needs, a dry wall patch. H went to take the batteries out if the monitor and broke it M is not napping. He is currently whining in his crib which means he will be a huge mess when my parents get here.
