I liked Ven's design a lot - and liked his design a lot last week too. I was torn between his design and Sonija's - I really loved her whole aquatic theme (and how she placed the sharks was really thoughtful).
Gunnar Deatherage...is beyond annoying on so many levels.

Andrea and Kooan were safe since they actually finished their dresses. Buffi did half of a dress by weaving the candy, but didn't really have a skirt. Lantie didn't really follow the challenge at all since she tore up an umbrella, sewed it into something, and glued a few pieces of candy on it. I though Elena was gone after Michael Kors started going on about her dress. I don't remember him saying that much about something so bad in past seasons.
I have a feeling Gunnar, Kooan, and Buffi are going to be around for a few more episodes since some of these designers have very little personality. I like what Ven makes, but he's so awkward like pp said. Sonjia does good work too, but she stays away from the drama. Gunnar had me LMAO when Tim told him his first episode outfit looked like an old lady who lunches outfit and he responded with "Good thing my area is crawling with old ladies who lunch with money to burn!"
ETA: If they do a hat challenge, Gunnar will most likely win that one. His work isn't bad and designing in Louisville gives him an edge since I think he's probably done some Derby fashion. He has to know how to design around a hat. His first two weeks scream Derby.
Yeah, creating an outfit out of "safe" materials is the kiss of death.
I thought Ven and Sonja's were great but I thought Sonja's was more interesting. I loved the back. I thought it was playful. I loved the colors and textures.
I also really liked Dmitry's. It had amazing movement.

I think Dmitry could be one of the best besides Ven. His was amazing and looked so different than the rest. I liked Sonjia's better too. The color was better and the shape was too. I don't love these materials challenges since all I see when I look at them on the runway is the muslin. All I could see of Ven's on the was the muslin showing through. I think that's what I loved about Dmitry's. He took the knit from the shirts to make his base and the black worked better IMO.
The other thing that I thought was so funny about this episode was how shocked some of them looked when they found out that Dylan Lauren is Ralph Lauren's daughter. I loved her bath products. The quality and scent was a lot better than many lines.
Gunner's name is fake right?? Gunner Deatherage? Well he makes me want to shoot myself in the ears. I can't stand him. His dress was ok, I didn't think it was top 3 worthy, but oh well. I think Sonjia should have won, I loved how fun her dress was and how she used many different types of candy. I think Dylan Lauren was rooting for her, but Heidi won out by picking Ven's. His was nice, but like someone else mentioned you can still see the muslin. I liked Dmitry's and thought he could've taken Gunner's place as #3 instead.
WTF is up with the old lady and the dots apron?!?! That was so stupid, and she deserved to go home. If not for Lantie using umbrellas, and Elena's dress falling apart, she would've been there too. I thought Buffi's looked cool on the mannequin but sloppy on the model. The skirt wasn't great, but the top was pretty cool.
