So DS is allergic to dairy and strawberries. We had a pre-packaged dinner tonight because we had a crazy day, but all of the ingredients are benign things. Jack had a HUGE reaction. Hives everywhere. Would you assume that something was incorrectly labeled? (although I googled it and found nothing) or would you think it was time to get back to the specialist to retest for something new?

When was he last tested? Some allergies have "relatives" with similar plants, so if you are allergic to one you can also be allergic to those things as well. This is the case for several plant allergies. Were there other fruits in the meal?

What was his reaction like? Itchy/hives or digestive stuff?
Were the veggies pre-cooked or was it one of those flash frozen/steam them in the microwave-type deals? I ask cause some veggies lose some allergenic properties when cooked for long enough.
He drinks soy and almond milk. H thinks maybe it's soy but it's contact? The food was all over his body, but that's not an issue when he drinks soy milk.

Ok I'll give you my not-a-doc but I read a lot about allergies and have a few weird ones, response:
Considering it was a steamer bag and hives, IMO that points to another plant allergy. I forget how old he is but if he is still under 3 kids bodies can freak out over a food that they won't have a problem with later. Dd had a hive explosion all over from lemon juice once And then never again. Also many plant allergies are not severe and not a anaphylaxis risk.
I'd take the ingredient list to the doc and get him tested for what the doc feels the most likely culprits are and then go from there. I'm guessing he already tested negative for soy?
