Jessa Duggar goes to the Holocaust Museum, blames the Holocaust on belief in evolution, and compares it to abortion.

I can't stand that so many people see them as this big family with "well behaved" kids.  They are spewing and spreading ignorance, whether through the inane shit they say on IG or by promoting homeschooling (taught by women with barely a high school education themselves, using horseshit curriculum where facts are replaced with religious dogma).

This is just...beyond the pale.

Just one day after Jessa Duggar bashed evolution and atheism on Instagram, she returned to the social media site to express an even more controversial view.

Jessa, 21, and fiance Ben Seewald, 19, are in DC at the moment, and according to her page they recently paid a visit to the US Holocaust Museum.

The future Mrs. Seewald was clearly moved by the experience, and with good reason. The museum brings to vivid life one of the most horrific tragedies in human history.

Unfortunately, and all too predictably, the emotions that Jessa experienced at the museum inspired an lengthy, impassioned defense of her various political causes and religious convictions.

None of which - at least as most people probably see it - have anything to do with the millions of lives lost in concentration camps in Europe during WWII.

Jessa's latest Insta-rant is too long to reproduce here, but she begins by saying, "I walked through the Holocaust museum today...very sobering."

So far, so good. She goes on to lament man's inhumanity toward man and decry the horrors of racism.

Then she begins to go off the rails, asserting that racism stems "from the evolutionary idea that man evolved from something less than human; that some people groups are 'less evolved' and others 'more evolved.'"

Say what?!

We're not sure what evolutionary biologists Jessa's been chatting with, but the gist of the theory is that we all evolved from different species.

There's literally not a single reputable scientist on the planet claiming that "some people groups are 'less evolved.'"

But hey, if your head hasn't exploded yet, don't worry - it gets worse.

Following a lengthy quote from the Book of Proverbs (We highly doubt Jessa abides by every law in the Old Testament, but that's a conversation for another time.), Jessa mercifully wraps things up.

But first, of course, she gut-punches you with nonsense one last time:

"We must be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. Because EVERY LIFE IS PRECIOUS #ProLife"

That bit at the end was the first time that Jessa mentioned anything about abortion, and to be clear, we're not attacking her stance on the matter. It's a complex issue and not a debate we're interested in wading into here.

All we're saying is, DON'T FREAKIN' COMPARE ANYTHING TO THE HOLOCAUST! There. It's that simple.

It's like using a racial slur or cat-calling a strange woman on the street. Just don't do it ever, or you're a jackass. Is that so hard?

I have no idea either. I think some of the shit it worth talking smack about but I'm not at all surprised nor do I think it's worth my time to discuss why some clearly uneducated heifer has some 4th grade understanding of world history. 

I doubt she's stupid. She's just been raised in a damned bubble. I actually feel bad for her that her opportunities for reasoned and rational thought have been so stunted by those morons.

I agree with this. I was tired of hearing about them when they were just a semi annual feature on the Today Show. They are clearly a circus act and feed off this attention (positive and negative). Don't give them attention and they go away.

Well, they've been condemned before for comparing the Holocaust to abortion by prominent Jewish groups. So basically - not surprising that fundies in general and the Duggars in particular keep doing this? I mean, Jessa wasn't even allowed to use social media until she was engaged, so it's not as though she's done her own research or had thoughtful discussions with people who hold different beliefs on this topic.

I have been watching the most recent season of 19 Kids and Counting and their fundie-ness is coming out more and more in the show and its kind of horrifying.

I also thought for a while that Jessa seemed well adjusted and kind of irritated at Ben but I take it back now. She seems to have fallen for him and their combined interviews are so bad. They both seem uneducated and flippant about everything. I do feel badly for the girls because they truly have not been given any opportunities and I fully admit that they have been basically brainwashed. And any time they start to show any independent thought they get sent to brainwashing camp.

I had some hopes for Jill since she was getting married and leaving the flock but with her already being PG I don't know that she will have time to explore her sense of self before being a Mom.

i thought the complaint was they were becoming "too ungodly" b/c of fame.

and i wonder how much money Uterus Duggar and Jim Bob make and how they split that with their kids?

What I mean by their "fundie-ness" becoming more obvious is that the focus of the show really used to be about them being a big family and doing family stuff. It was always there that they were fundies, but I felt like they weren't that obvious about it.

With the older daughters now in their early 20s, it has really brought out their religious views on the role of women in the family. Some of the things I think before were just sort of swept over and are now actually being talked about, especially in regards to the courting behavior. They are very specific about why they court, more bible verses now, stuff that they are saying like Jim Bob turning over his daughters to another man, etc. 

So for example I don't know if the casual viewer understands their views about women and how you can't be a single, young woman just living your life in an apartment and dating. Maybe they do and I don't give the general public enough credit. But it's really, painfully obvious this season. 

I would assume that Josh and Anna get their own paychecks. Some of the episodes this season have had little vignettes of Anna with the kids, for example she was making paver stones with them in DC without any of the other Duggars in a recent episode.

It's interesting how ...Hollywood-ish the girls look now. Look at Anna when they were courting vs. now. They all do the beach wave or whatever with their hair instead of the bad 90s perm curls. They all seem to wear self tanner and lots of makeup including eye makeup.
