I have an opportunity that has arisen for work. It will be minimal travel for 1-2 weeks at a time. I've traveled for work at a different job before we were married, and loved it. Never done it being married. For those of you who travel for work, do you do anything special for your spouse left at home? How does it work for you guys?
DH travels for work, about 5 days at a time, home on the weekends. He's usually gone 2 weeks out of the month. He doesn't do anything special for me and I enjoy the time alone in the house to watch whatever I want, but I do miss him.

H and I both travel occasionally for work. He is gone 2-3 times a month for a few days to a week. When I travel, it's usually bimonthly and only for 2-3 days at a time.
I don't do anything out of the ordinary for him when I'm gone. I usually offer to pick up stuff for dinner when I grocery shop for the week, but he generally just opts to pick up something (chipotle/etc.) on his way home each night. We divide household chores anyhow, so nothing really changes there either.

And I agree with pooh8402, while I missing him when he is traveling, I also wholeheartedly enjoy the opportunity to eat cereal for dinner, watch whatever tv I want, and spend hours wandering the mall without anyone wondering where I am.

When I left for a trip I would buy him frozen White Castle, lol. He likes WC and I hate it and since there were no restaurants near us that was a good substitute. Otherwise, he just did his own thing.
I don't do anything special for H. I've been traveling for 5 years so we have our own routines now. I like to make sure he has dinners planned out, groceries on hand, leftovers for quick meals.
