Now that I'm almost 30 weeks, I can't help but think holy shit.
Aside from the usual stuff (getting baby room ready, installing car seat, packing bag, etc), what kinds of things are on your list to do before your little one comes?
My list: * work on 3rd volume of family album on shutter.fly * back up pics on computer to zip drive * organize my file cabinets * get life insurance policies squared away * wills * clean and organize our garage (yay for cold Denver weather) * get freezer for garage * fill aforementioned freezer with freezer meals I've made * clean out my email boxes (6,000 emails is nuts, yes?) I can't believe this is even on my list. * organize coat closet
I guess these are just random projects that have been on my list for a while. I know I need to do them fast, because the chance I'll want to do them with a little guy in tow is slim.
Last time, I made sure to go to the dentist, the eye doctor, and check to make sure I had refills on all my prescriptions through my GP before the baby came. I was glad I did.
Oh, also, I was really glad I'd pre-printed address labels for all the people who we wanted to send birth announcements to, so when they came I just had to slap the label on and mail them--I'd already tracked down the weird addresses I needed to get from MIL/FIL etc.
Ack, my list is too long for my comfort here at 30w...
- Finish rearranging rooms (we are merging the office and guest room so that we have a room for the baby) - Paint the room(s) - After the shower I need to purchase everything that's left and wash all clothes and linens - Assemble all the nursery stuff - (Purchase and) install car seats - Daycare deposit... This should already be done but we hit a snag. - Pick a pediatrician - Wills - Pick a name - Install smoke detectors in bedrooms (we have them but need to install still)
For the birth itself: - Pack hospital bag - Create labor playlists - Practice pain management techniques incl breathing

I haven't compiled my list yet, but off the top of my head:
Get the Amazon music app so I can play the Rockabye Baby albums I got free through Prime Music for baby on my Ipod Paint and get new carpet in our family room Finish cleaning out of office closet (we're almost done!) Clean out the nursery closet which is currently full of our clothes Go through all of our clothes and get rid of what we no longer need Clean out my pantry cupboard, it's a mess

you ladies sound so on the ball! my list includes buy a minivan and order cribs. hahahaha. But some of those other things make a lot of sense too. Like picking names and I will put up our smoke detectors too. Why I have waited I do not know. it is pretty dumb. We also need to empty the tools out of the spare dresser so that we can use it for the babies' room. Which means we should finally buy a legit tool box.
*Make freezer meals (I'm assuming this won't happen) *Wash bottles (did this the other day since I was bored) *Scrub kitchen floor - my mom is doing this *Clean all windows in the house *Organize basement and baby items that we don't need to use right away *Deep clean house *Stock up on laundry detergent, toilet paper, etc. *Upload pics to shutterfly and finish album for the year before babies
*Pack hospital bag *Install car seat bases *Call H's insurance about adding babies once they are born *Pick up breast pump *Organize baby bath items in bathroom - they're all sitting in the nursery for now *Finish nursery - all that is left is to hang window valences, put on skirts and sheets, and hang 1 piece of art I just bought. Everything is washed and ready to go otherwise
I have a couple of projects I plan to do/ have done for weeks 2-4 when I'm nursing around the clock: -move all photos from computer to thumb drive -tons of colors, games, and other quiet activities for dd to do while we are lounging around
Before delivery: -have living room & hallways painted, hang art/photos (we just moved in about 2 months ago & I'm dragging my feet on this - organize garage (h can do this one!) -organize and purge DDs toys -unpack and clean all of the baby items that we stored after dd - complete nursery (except for crib - we will keep a queen in there until visitors die down. Baby will be in our room for a month or so) - pack hospital bag and diaper bag - finish shopping, wash nb & 0-3s -set up a baby station in the master (rnp, changing area, water and snacks for me) -buy new fridge for kitchen and move current fridge to garage -fill garage freezer/fridge with freezer meals and stuff to make DDs lunch for a few weeks. Also drinks/snacks for visitors. -buy more nursing tanks and pjs - get dogs groomed -oil changes in cars (or at least mine) -order contact lenses

As of right now my list includes:
Figure out where a crib or some sort of sleeping thing will go and make room in our room Get some sort of storage for baby's clothes/diapers Start a registry
As baby is closer, I definitely want to make some freezer meals because I'm sure neither of us will want to cook. Also the usual like setting up the necessities like car seat, crib, etc and packing a bag.
As of right now I still need to schedule a hospital tour, find a pediatrician, clear out space in the apartment, finish registering, and look into life insurance.
You guys are reminding me there is much, much more to do.
