...the official dictator of the gift exchange.
If you do not like this idea, we shall fight to the death! Just kidding- if you want to volunteer to organize it, you can. Seriously. if you want this, it is yours. I'm just trying to get the ball rolling.
My first act as dictator is to declare a theme: COZY WINTER COMFORTS. Use your imagination and have fun with it. Things that have been suggested for this theme are pajamas, books, blankets/pillows, snuggly toys/items, yummy food, winter themed toys/items, winter gear, winter/holiday traditions, quiet indoor activities etc.
We need to decide on a price range and if we want to include a gift for the mamas. Please vote in the poll and choose ONE MONEY AMOUNT and ONE CHOICE FOR THE MAMAS/NO MAMAS. I put the prices as a minimum because of course no one is stopping you from spending more than the amount, but be aware that the gift you receive in return may only be of that amount.
I am thinking we'll do the draw Oct 31st and then you have until Dec 15th to mail your gift. We will pick a set day (prob Dec 22) that everyone will open their gifts at once and then post pics of the gifts, say thank you etc, in one giant thread. This is how they do it on ML and it's fun.
Wait, is that the minimum or maximum? Wasn't the limit the max in the past? I don't want to make it too expensive for people to participate.
Its the minimum. I clicked $15, I want everyone who wants to be able to participate to be included.
I did our Christmas budget this week, my family is trying a new thing this year of a $10 cap, even with that, and cheaping out on the kids (they won't remember anyway) it is up to nearly $1K, it gets expensive quickly.
I am torn as to whether opening in one day is best with a great big thread, or if it is actually more fun to see the gifts one by one. I'm scared that things will get lost in the great big thread and it may be more exciting the spread the fun over a longer period.
The big ML reveal thread is always fun to read. For me. Lol
