DS is 18 months, and will be 21 months come Christmas.
- more wooden Thomas the Train track - another train or two (he loves his talking Spencer train) - pop-up tunnel to keep him busy this winter - Magna-Tiles - Bristle Blocks - a couple of books
Magna-Tiles are pricey, but there's no "big" gift on his list this year. Last Christmas he got a Radio Flyer push wagon, which he still loves. But I don't envision anything large in physical size this year. Mainly because I can't think of anything along those lines that he needs or we want in the house right now.
Dd, 4.5 yo- leappad 3, arts and crafts, maybe a disney movie, books, carseat since hers expires in Dec in dhs truck
Dd, newborn, prob will get her a few small toys so dd1 isn't confused why she isn't getting anythinf, otherwise we wouldn't with her being so small and not needing anything Family will ask for ideas and I will prob suggest Jumperoo and convertable carseat to use later.
His big gift will be a tablet. I'm deciding between the Leappad 3 and the new Kid's Kindle Fire. Waiting for some reviews before I decide.
I also want to get him a cash register, some Thomas stuff (we have the starter track that a friend gave us last year... so we'll add to that), and an art easal.
I've learned from last year not to buy him anything that makes too much noise. Rookie mom mistake!
The Ikea one doesn't go as flat, and I don't like the colors. (We don't have it, but had considered buying.)
Additionally, I bought an pop-up Ikea tent and hate it. I may actually return it the next time we're there. It doesn't open square at all. Ours is probably defective, as it doesn't stand flat, and is very warped. Bummer! www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60243576/
For DS (3y): stamps, play doh sets (he really liked the ones with hair), simple board games For DD(1.5y): board books, balls for a ball pit, magnetic wooden animals
DS will have just turned 5 at Christmas. Right now the plans are to add to his Thomas train track collection and regular size Legos, since he is moving away from the Duplos. Maybe one of the new Hot Wheels tracks as well. I don't have any great ideas for any sort of big gift right now, and the only thing he has asked for is a sandbox, which he will get before then so that he can play in it while the weather is nice.

Probably no big gift from us this year. DS1 will be 2.5 and I'm planning to get him Stomp Rockets, and maybe a play tent. DH will likely have something he wants to get for him too. DS2 will be two months and get a few small things in a stocking just for fun.
Books! Melissa and Doug puzzles - we have a few and he hasn't really figured them out yet but strangely likes them at the museum Llama llama doll Goodnight Daniel and Tigey musical doll Daniel Tiger musical trolley and neighborhood friends Kids' Djembe (hand drum) Melissa and Doug Pounding bench
From Us:
I'm waiting for a cool climber/play house to come up on craigslist or a FB swap so he has something to climb on inside during the cold months Also will buy him a twin foam mattress when/if I get PG I was going to make him a custom board book for his birthday and never did so I may do it for xmas
Some sort of workbench that definitely has a hammer and pounding blocks.
I like the idea of a pop up tunnel! Which one are you thinking of?
Maybe a ball-pit. He loves the one at My Gym.
AJ has the M&D workbench and hammer and loves it. And his inflatable TMNT ball pit-it has sides and a hole in the top that I might lower him through headfirst into the balls while holding onto his ankles. This might be one of his top three favorite games (along with peekaboo and the I'm gon' gitchuuuu games)
So far I'm thinking pop up tunnel and books. Maybe more duplos. Or Magnatiles? And summer clothes.

DD1 - she asked for some Monster High dolls, AG stuff, and Legos of course. H and I are debating getting her a Kindle Fire. DS - Legos, legos and more legos. Maybe some new Red Toolbox Kits and a tool belt. DD2 - No idea. She's really into drawing so I may buy her several reams of white paper that are just for her (she keeps stealing my printer paper). DD3 - Also no idea. If I ask what she wants it changes every time (and is ridiculous stuff like food or trash cans).
I'll be shopping our gift closet, for the most part. It's stashed with things I've found on clearance, with amazing coupons, or have been sent in Citrus Lane boxes but didn't want to give him yet. A couple toy trucks, Duplo sets, alphabet blocks, books... lots of possibilities. E's birthday is tomorrow, and we're planning on pulling out a camper van toy for that. H thinks I'm crazy when I buy like this, but he finally admitted it is "smart."
I'm at a loss for DS (3). He would love a tablet, but i hate to encourage more electronics. Maybe a mini bowling set, and I'm thinking of enrolling him in Karate, or asking the grands to pitch in for it.
DD will be 3 months. I bought her the FP laugh and learn house. She will be young for it but it saves me from making the purchase later in the year.
IT's going to be all about the wooden trains this year. His birthday is on New Year's so between that and Grandma and Grandpa going in with us I think he'll come out pretty flush.

I think he got tegu blocks for his bday in Feb and I will re-gift them to him for Christmas.
Oh yeah, there's definitely an "excess" gift or two in there, as well. I don't want DS getting too much at once, and this way I save money. Win-win!
