isn't meth what they made in breaking bad? (I never watched it) wasn't that blue? I'm entirely basing this on a coworkers Halloween costume from last year....
Also in case those too lazy to click through were wondering - she's white. Because duh, meth. If she was black they'd have accused her of having a crack spoon. Obvs.

I've never seen it either. I have no clue what meth looks like
this story linked in the OP has more details. apparently the police report claims the spoon substance was clear and crystalline, which is why they tested it. They also said the suspect was nervous and had sores on her face, arms and legs which made them suspect meth. That and they just thought the spoon in the bag was weird - to which I say - HuH? You people eat your meals in cars all the damn time, you don't have any random dirty Tupperware or spoons hanging around?
I do see a little scratch on her forehead. But otherwise GTFO. And also I just see no reason why searching the car should be standard practice on a traffic stop. JUST SAY NO.
Now, granted, most of my experience with this comes from those terrifying meth-person in the shower commercials, but I see no traces of meth-mouth on that lady.

I know several people who throw their gross spoon in their purse... I have done it on occasion. So crazy that someone would be in jail for so long while they test a spoon
This is ridiculous, though this does remind me that I need to make this copycat, but way better spaghettios recipe that I have.
Ditto - it is ridiculous.
Oh and I want your spaghettios reciepe.
As for the article - it's crazy that she would have to stay in jail for months b/c they were testing the spoon and she couldn't afford bail. Do we really want people waiting in jail for analytical results for drugs? Are potential meth addicts that much of a problem for safety that we need to keep them off the streets while determining if they do drugs?

I won't get into the charges but I am super dang curious as to why after spending to weeks unfairly jailed and contemplating just pleading out WTF this girl didn't get herself to her court appointment?? I mean did she forget it, not get notification, have an emergency or what? I know it is not really the point, but if that had been my ass that had been jailed erroneously you would bet I would not be missing that appointment.

if you read the local story here: www.gainesvilletimes.com/section/6/article/104844/ there are a lot more details that make it clear she's not exactly....a sympathetic character. She may in fact be a total meth head.

Pasta Os With Meatballs America's Test Kitchen Healthy Family Cookbook
Use any bite-sized pasta. Don't use ground chicken breast. Use store-brought or your own pesto recipe
6 ozs ground chicken 3 TBS pesto 3 TBS pain dried breadcrumbs Salt and pepper 1 onion, coarsely chopped 1 TBS olive oil 1 carrot, peeled and medium chopped 1 small celery rib, coarsely chopped 3 garlic cloves, minced 2.5 cups low-sodium chicken broth 1 28oz can diced tomato 4 ozs bite-sized pasta
1. Combine the chicken, pesto, breadcrumbs, 1/8 tsp salt, and pinch of pepper in a bowl and mix with your hands until uniform. Use a heaping teaspoon to gently form the mixture into 3/4-inch round meatballs, place on a plate, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until needed.
2. Heat the oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat until shimmering. Add the onion, carrot, and celery and cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Stir in the broth and tomatoes with their juice, scraping up any browned bits. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat to a medium-low, cover and cook until the carrot is softened, 15 to 20 minutes.
3. Transfer the soup to a blender and process until very smooth, 1 to 2 minutes. Return the pureed soup to a clean pot, cover and return to a simmer over medium heat.
4. Stir in the pasta and reserved meatballs and continue to simmer until the past a and meatballs are cooked through, 12 to 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to serve.
This is horrific. And yet another example of how poverty is borderline criminal in this country (a wealthy person would have either been able to make arrangements to attend the hearing that sent her to jail the 2nd time or have a lawyer get her out of it).
EVEN IF it were meth residue on the spoon, what is this going to accomplish? Now this woman has a record and can't get a job, now she and her kids go on welfare, and who, exactly, is better off now? Society?
After I read this I went and googled meth, because I also couldn't understand how tomato sauce could be confused with meth. I just don't understand any of this.
Okay so that second story, I might have to be the odd man out here because he did find the spoon in her bag, no can of spagettios in sight, and he did use a field test on the spoon that apparently gave a false positive.
Like wouldn't you lick the spoon clean before you put it back in your bag?
Also, she didn't go to jail for four months following the initial arrest but for a serious of events spurred by the original arrest.
"Not gonna lie; I kind of keep expecting you to post one day that you threw down on someone who clearly had no idea that today was NOT THEIR DAY." ~dontcallmeshirley
I've transported a dirty spaghetti-os spoon in my purse before.
You didn't lick it clean first? Weirdo lol.
I thought meth on the spoon looked cooked and burnt. I mean I've never seen meth so I wouldn't know but uhm yeah lol
it was licked but still clearly dirty
also I don't eat them out of the can, so there was also a dirty tupperware in my bag to back up my story. Hopefully, with a few of those supertiny Os stuck to the side.
none the less, guilty of transporting spoons with tomato residue.
