We're three-quarters of the way through the year, where does the time go?
What are you reading this week? Are you enjoying it?
QOTW: Do you have any books you're holding off reading because you don't want the series to end or because you're worried you'll be disappointed when you do?

I'm still reading The Book Of Madness and Cures - Regina O'Melveny. I have 5 days and then it goes back to the library e-book heaven. LOL I'm hoping to finish before then so i can start reading Search The Dark I only have ti for 13days.
No, I'm the same way. Once I start a series the only thing that stops me for reading the next book is if the series isn't completed yet.
I just started Jan Karon's Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good. I like it, it is just what I need this week - a comforting book from a favorite series. I chose this over my book club book (Monday meeting - Flowers in the Attic) a reread that I just could not get motivated for.
No holding off on a series, unless the next one will be out soon and waiting means I can read two in a row without the wait in between!
I'm reading The Auschwitz Escape, Joel C> Rosenberg - It's a pretty good book.
I'm also listening to Brave New World, Aldous Huxley - It's slightly boring but not boring enough to make me stop. I'm only about 1.5 hours into it. I remember reading it as a kid and I am pretty sure I liked it then.
QOTW: I don't have any books I'm holding off on. There is the last book in GoT that I have put aside because I needed a break from it. I need some action!
I'm reading the Maze Runner. It's okay. It's a pretty quick read. I'm not sure I'll see the movie, since I usually try to see movies getting Oscar buzz around this time of year.
I have not read the last book in the Divergent series or Daughter of Smoke and Bone series. But that's more because I want to find the time to read the first two books in each series again.
I'm too lazy to look it up msmerymac, what is The Daughter Of Smoke and Bone about?
It's good. It's kind of fantasy - it's about a woman named Karou, who is disguised as a human (she attends art school in Prague), but was really raised by chimera. She doesn't know where she came from. Long story short, she falls in love with an Angel... who is, of course, the mortal enemy of the Chimera. She it's a war of the worlds/angels and demons type of story, but there's a lot more to it, and I found the author's writing to be REALLY good, and the characters and story to be great. I think it's technically classified as YA, but only because Karou is 17 - it's one of those things that doesn't feel like a book for teens.

msmerymac, I'm going get it out at library for an e-book. Sounds interesting.
A couple of months ago I finish a 3 book YA series Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. This is geared toward older YA if that makes sense LOL. It's not in the adult category, but I wouldn't let a 13yr old read them. Anyway.. they aren't bad and a good quick read if you're waiting for something else to be available or a beach read.

I'm finishing Murder and Mendelssohn, but I'm not enjoying this one as much as I usually do the Phryne books. I think there is too much anachronistic attitude trying to force acceptance of alternative lifestyles in it and not enough murder mystery. The plot seems to have gone off course and I am not sure how the author will tie everything up in just the last chapter. (That is not to say I object to alternative lifestyles, only that if you're writing a historical piece, I find it very disconcerting to force modern attitudes on characters who may not have held them given the times, you know?)
QOTW: Yes. I have two series I have not yet read the last books because I don't want them to end. I know I can re-read them, but it's not the same, so I'm very carefully not reading the last books. And they really are the end because the authors have passed away, so it's not quite the same as waiting for the next installment and then doing a marathon read. But now I know I'm officially crazy in this way.
I'm reading What We Keep by Elizabeth Berg. It was highly recommended by a friend, and I'm enjoying the story telling, I just have no idea where it's going, if that makes sense.
QOTW: I'm holding off on the Divergent series, first because I want to read them all in paperback. I really can not stand hard covers! And second, because I've heard the ending is pretty bad.
Also holding off on The Game of Thrones. In general, I really like to have all of a series available before I get going.
I just finished Henrietta Lacks. I'm starting The Shining Girls.
I have drawn out reading series only because I am waiting on a book at the library or waiting for the right edition to come out so I can match it with the set (I.e.outlander series)

I couldn't get through The Shining Girls. I gave up. Hopefully it's better for you.
I just finished Peony In Love and now I think I'll start Maze Runner.
QOTW: Generally I will read straight through a series quickly but right now I have a few I've been hesitating to finish. Both because I don't think the last two books will be all that great unfortunately.
